Previous GE Hotpoint microwave that came with the house lasted 11 years and we thought replacing with another GE product would be straight forward.  Mounting process is completely different requiring quite a few more holes in our wall and upper cabinet.  This took a great deal of time and will look terrible when this microwave has to be removed in the future.  Don't know that our wall or cabinet could take another GE "upgrade" when the time comes to replace this one, if the holes are again in different spots.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really nice over the stove microwave. It looks nice and clean. It has a lot of nice features. My only issues are the power, which seems a bit lower than our old microwave as it takes longer to cook things, and the door/handle, which I wish had more of a "push button release" to make it easier to open the door. It installed easily.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace a counter style microwave. Anytime you can get counter space, it's a plus in a small kitchen. Was an an easy install for our electrician, and had it up in no time. For a family of 5, it suits all our needs. And with a 3 y.o. son, we don't find things that are not supposed to be in microwaves. Price was right and nice addition to our home.

This item has had problems with the turntable from the very first week it was installed. Intermittently it makes a grinding, thumping noise, and while service was scheduled right away, it seems terrible to me that service for a new item is needed at all. I should work correctly, and it doesn't! Wasted time and effort, and no one is paying ME for either.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how this looks in the kitchen. It matches the other appliances I bought and really pieces everything together. It has different features that I use that make heating things up easier (as if that could be easier). I love the beverage button - it's perfect for my coffee warming up; and the popcorn button actually works - the popcorn instructions tell you not to use that most of the time, but I have yet to burn popcorn in this microwave. The vent fan is really loud when it turns on automatically - but you get that with any fan/vent. If you turn on the low vent before it automatically kicks in, it helps with the noise. I love it - easy to clean too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This purchase was for a rental. The controls are basic and intuitive. My tenants didn't need to read a manual or have an engineering degree to operate. This is a good, solid, decent looking microwave and I expect it will be trouble free.

The one I just replaced was 18 years old, still working but the door handle broke so I decided to replace the aging unit. Recent reviews are not favorable for this basic unit, so I am not optimistic that this one will be as durable, but I still hope to get at least 5 years of service.

Purchased this microwave in September 2012. The unit has been used a few times a week since it was installed. Thirteen months after purchased the microwave quit working. Very unhappy that I need to replace the unit after a little over a year and only one month after the warranty expired. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MICROWAVE!

Love this microwave I recently purchased this product to replace a 15 year old GE microwave. The only reason I was replacing the old one was because the bottom of the door had cracked due to exposure from heat from the large burner on the stove directly below the microwave. I originally bought another brand microwave, in the same price range, but when I got it home I discovered that it lacked many of the features of both the old and new GE ovens. I returned it and purchased the GE and installed it the next day. I am very pleased with the new GE microwave and would highly recommend it.
