Love oversized scan and print features. Ink seems to last a long time. Makes great copies and prints well. Some paper jams experienced, but on- screen instruction helps. Only problem is learning how to print Quark docs two-sided.

I bought this to replace the older model Brother MFC-240C. The MFC-J6535DW is much bigger and heavier and is supposed to be wireless. The wireless function only worked for a week and then never worked again.I had to resort to a cable. It does do a good job of printing, copying and scanning.It did have a glitch for several day where it would print a reduced size sideways copy. It did not do this at first. I was able to plough through huge selection of printing selections to eventually fix it. I think the problem is the driver not the hardware. It automatically updated the driver and nothing I did could change it back to print wirelessly. I had taken my other Brother wireless printer, a MFC-J870DW which is a great wireless printer but no longer available to my office and so needed a printer at home. I wish Brother made another version of the MFC-J870DW which worked great and was not as large or bulky.

This printer WILL NOT print, even in black only, if you are out of any one of the color inks. It WILL NOT print if you put a non-Brother ink cartridge in it. You are stuck buying expensive proprietary cartridges you do not need for too much money to print even in just black and white. I HATE THIS PRINTER AND WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BROTHER PRODUCT!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. This is a large, heavy, cumbersome machine. One needs to keep that in mind if you have a lot of stairs etc or if you need to fit it in a computer armoire. It was a relatively easy experience with the set up. The printing speed and the print quality are good. The 11x17 print capability is a great feature. The notification sounds are a bit noisy.

Bought this printer to replace my MFC6920 which I literally wore out. Pros: Handles all sorts and sizes of paper well, feeds envelopes and heavy papers very well, is very "stingy" with ink, which is good for the budget. Cons: I find the output paper tray very awkward to remove and insert, the ADF will not do a double side copy or scan. Not necessarily a "con" but if you are new to this line of Brother printers you do have to read the manual for instructions to load paper, it is very different from most brands of printers.

I bought this printer because I wanted a fast, duplex, color printer. It is good in that regard. However, it CONTINUES to drop off my wireless network and sometimes is missing-in-action when I attempt to use it in wireless mode from my Mac. The printer simply falls asleep. If that happens, sometimes I can get it running by walking down the hall and pressing the home button; in my case I must then go back to my desktop to delete the old job, issue a new print and walk back again. I just spent 2 hours attempting to ensure printer firmware is updated and that I have the latest driver. I guess I must call Brother Tech Support (AGAIN) tomorrow. Maybe this product is good for a Windows machine in wireless mode; when it works in wireless mode on the Mac it is great and it does copy well, so I gave it 3 stars in view of the times that it does work to my satisfaction, but I''m having much trouble getting it to work on my network reliably. Because I bought it for wireless printing (not FAX or copying), and one associated with a Mac, its performance in wireless mode is a downer.

I have not used my printer enough to give a review. I am still learning about the features. I do like how it prints double sided, printing both sides at the same time. I think it is loud during printing but it is also quick to complete a job. Please ask me again for a review in 6 months.

Disappointed that my new printer stopped working after 3 months of purchase. It stopped ejecting ink in some of the colors. Replaced with a refurbished printer. When printing both sides, When I go to print on the second side, it pulls multiple pages through which messes up the printing. Also when printing multiple pages, when the pages eject, they are not organized and at times some of the pages fold and curl.

I have other Brother printers that work fine. This one was a lemon. It took all day to print 8 sheets of text. The printer would jam with every page. Clear the jam and jam again. Then I could not even open the paper tray. Took it back to Office Max after one day. Hopeless

This printer is good for home use where the user is pretty much right next to it. Can't double sided copy from the computer. You would have to go to the printer, load up the paper, print, and then switch paper over to print on the other side. If you print odd pages and then even pages, It will skip page numbers messing your whole work up. I wouldn't recommended again for office use or where multiple user would share the printer.
