Great Printer, I like it!

I do like the printer. The color is not as good as my Brother Color Laser Printer. It is a bit flat and dull but my laser doesn't print and scan 11x17 and that is why I bought this printer and that works very well and it is quite peppy. It zips out prints faster than any inkjet I have worked with. It churns for a few seconds and then squirts the print out. No wig-wag of the print head like the older inkjets. I sure would like to see how it does that. I would buy this printer again. The best thing I like about Brother printers is the high quality of the printer and the low cost of supplies. The savings really add up over a year.

Exellent printer/scanner/fax machine!

Printer: Excellent speed on the 2 sided option using the document feeder. Setting the paper in the main trays is tricky. It jams if the paper is a bit too much pushed inside. Fax: Good. It would be nice for the dispay to show which page is being sent. As it is now it just show "sending" and you don't have an idea about the waiting time to finish sending. Scan: excellent, so far. I need to use it more.

Nice printer for the price

I have been using the printer in the WiFi mode. The mechanism is a bit cumbersome to set up, but seems to work reasonably well. Occasionally I have to restart the printer to get it to reconnect to WiFi. Once going, I'm really impressed with the features. Double sided scanning and printing on up to 11x17". It's fast! So far the demo tanks of ink are still in it, so I don't really know yet how it uses the ink. My one quality concern is that one of the cover panels wasn't correctly assembled, so there is an odd edge hanging out. It doesn't see to affect performance, but looks bad.

Good product. Manuals and help unsatisfactory.

The machine is generally easy to operate and produces good results. Problem is with the manuals and help. There is no practical way to search for solutions to issues. There is no practical search function in manuals. Help has a search, but search results are very numerous - in the hundreds - answers to FAQs which cannot be refined to focus in on the issue.

Beautiful images.

I bought this to print photographs mostly while I have tested the Canon and an HP that were recommended by PC Magazine where this one wasn't even mentioned, this performed well beyond any of the others in this price point. I'm an artist who sells reprints of her work and the color and the quality and Clarity is excellent.

Great Features - Terrible Software CD

Overall the Printer is great, image quality on picture printing is fair and copying quality could be a little sharper, but I am satisfied with it's performance. My major compliant is the print driver/software CD, which provided nothing, but trouble in attempting installation on to a Windows 7 Professional machine - it kept giving errors during installation and even a direct download from the website did not solve the problem - it appears that when attempting installation it requires a particular DLL file, which became corrupted when loaded. This printer really needs the Control Center 4 Link software to utilize all it's features. - it took me hours to get a replacement DLL file that was not corrupt at additional cost to finally install the software. I cannot vouch for installation in other operating systems, but windows 7 Professional on an HP Pavilion Elite HPE-590 is not a compatible match.

Great Printer

This printer, although considerably larger than I expected, is a wonder! It's not as quiet as I'd like, but it's speedy and accurate. Colors are bright and true, printing (even duplex) is fast, and other features - scanning and copying - are easy. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

So far so good

A vast improvement over my old MFC-9840CDW. Excellent print quality and much quieter. Ability to print 11x17 is great. Size and weight is reasonable. Easy and quick set up. Touch screen display is handy. No issues. Only caveat is I have not owned the printer for a long time yet. I hope the ink holds out and doesn't clog, as I use the printer infrequently.

Best printer I've ever owned

For a full description of its strengths and weaknesses (almost none), the PCMag review is spot on. There's a newer model out now with larger ink tanks, the MFC-J6945DW but I don't own it. Fast, low cost — about 1/4–1/5 the ink cost of the HP I replaced. Almost no warm-up time till print begins. Love it. Full duplex print & scan including tabloid. What's not to like? Regular firmware updates as needed are good, too. If there's a downside, it's that the ink does not saturate the paper like my HP on its Fine setting or most laser printers. That's ok, it's only noticeable when I A/B the output between the two. Perfectly great for music (my primary use) and the 200–300 pages my wife prints a week for her students. I'll use this till I wear it out unless Brother makes a Super Tabloid (12" x 19" or 13" x 20") version of this All-in-One. If that happens, I'll buy it. Because of the size and weight, I bought a LUXOR 24"W x 18"D x 26"H AV cart that fits perfectly. For large scanning jobs, it's handy to wheel it to my desk. Because I have it operating wirelessly, unplug the power cord, move from one office to the other, plug in and go. For Mac owners, it does work on the native AirPrint drivers but you have much greater functionality and control if you download the correct CUPS print drivers from Brother.

Great Machine

Had a Brother B&W laser printer for years and had no trouble with it. Finally purchased the MFC-J6935DW as a robust printer & large format scanner for home. Installation & operation is easy. ADF (auto doc feeder) works great as does the feature scanning to USB or to your computer. Wi-Fi connected easily, no issues. Only CON is would like to see some improvement in printer control panel menus and better computer scanning screens. Overall a great machine and looking forward to a long life!!
