I've had this installed for about a month now. It's a large unit, but that's to be expected with a 3/4HP motor. This unit is very quiet compared to the 8 year old 1/3HP InSinkErator I had previously. It's so quiet that you will sometimes barely realize it's still running once you turn the water off.
Now, let's get down to performance. You CAN NOT bog this unit down. Examples of things I've disposed of: A plate of chicken bones. A half a cheesesteak hoagie. Half of a chinese take out dinner (including eggroll). An entire cucumber that was starting to get soft. A LARGE cooked chicken breast (with rice). In short, I haven't found anything that I could put in there that it wouldn't promptly dispose of without so much as a hint of a struggle. I would buy this unit again in a minute.
