Warning: I bought model PR241 last year. PR242 has a couple of extra features but is essentially the same. The plastic console on top where all of the control levers are mounted will break on the underside. The cables connected to the levers are attached to it. The plastic will eventually break and then stuff stops working or only partially works. In my case the gear select lever and chute direction both broke. First the chute would only turn to the right and flop around. Then the machine would only drive in reverse. Check the reviews on the manufacturer's website for the PR241. Also, there was at least one review on another site with the same issue (sorry Sam's Club policy does not allow me to mention competitors in reviews). If you look at other brands of snow blowers that are similar with all of the control levers on top you will see that the console is made out of metal. I would not purchase this snow blower. It is just a matter of time before the plastic console will break rendering it useless.
