theoretically a great idea

I was excited to get this. I have a dog who works as a therapy dog in a hospital setting, so she has to be fresh and clean before going. I have used this three times. It makes a disastrous mess, water everywhere. It takes a very long time, and my dog is still soaking wet b/c it does not suck the water off well. I gave it a fair shot, but three strikes you're out, big waste of money. It works, it just takes an hour or more to cleam my dog. In theory, great idea, in practice not so good.

This worked great on my husky!

I bought this great little machine to clean my Siberian Husky. It worked great. Awesome to see the dirty water knowing it was pulling it off his coat. His coat is thick so I was happy to see that. The sound of the machine didn't bother him either. Oh and I didn't get soaked like I used to when he shook the water off of him

Don't waste your money

Received this as a gift and was excited to try it. It was not quite as advertised. The noise still scared my Westie. Did not clean well and left my dog drenched. I tried to return and was told I could not because it was used and I had no receipt. Could not even get store credit. Very disappointed with the store and the product.

Good For Multiple Dogs

Love Bissell's commitment to our Sirius friends, but find that their products aren't exactly elegant design..this is no exception. This was way too much work for one med sized, shorthaired dog. Setup and effort would pay off if you do what we do for one; soap, shower rinse, towel then blow dry. Or take to groomer, since, in our house, Time=$. If your dog barks @ the vacuum cleaner...not gonna like this noise, either. Kinda like the mail carrier.

BarkBath Portable "Air/Hair Cutting" Attachment Suggestion

I saw the BarkBath Portable Dog Bath System on Indiegogo and had to order it.!! I thought that $149.00 was inexpensive, as I have my Springer Spaniel bathed and trimmed every 30-days. Purchasing the BarkBath System could save me at least $80.00 per month, between my dogs baths and when I need to trim him. It would be fantastic if there was an attachment available to give my dog a "Air/Hair Cut" also. This could minimize the need every two months to trim my dog too.... Springer-Larry

Some prep time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit would be terrific for someone living in an apt. in the city or very cold climate. Prep time, priming the unit, and general setup time is the only drawback I can see. Seems to do a good job, and easy to operate if your pet cooperates. Make sure you go through the familiarization routine with your pet. Good for winter time baths. Easier in the summer with the garden hose.

I wouldn't recommend this product for most dogs

I have an 80lb white German Shepherd who is a year old and spends about 70% of the time outside. So needless to say he stays pretty dirty. But Nothing really bothers him so I figured I'd try the bark bath QT out. For starters if this is quieter than the original than I pity the people who have the louder version. I ended up putting it in the other room and tried to shut the door as much as possible. I'm not one to give up to easily so I tried it three times prior to writing the review and ultimately I'd say this is a waste of money. It's a great idea and I was super excited about it! But greatly let down by bissel. It gets the dog too wet and doesn't suck hard enough to actually dry the dog. It doesn't get deep enough on a thick coat even with the face plate removed. And it doesn't have any method of scrubbing to get really dirty spots out. Ultimately if you had a small short haired dog that never got dirty this product would probably do a decent job at keeping him clean. If you have a decent sized family dog that plays with the kids and gets dirty than you will be completely disappointed. The three times I used this bark bath I spent over 45 min and still ended up with a dirty dog and a room that smelt and was a mess. I do not recommend this product and I'm hoping bissel will stand by their money back guarantee, but if it's anyhjng like their product I'm ready to be let down once again.

Not enough suction but was a breeze to use

I have a long coat German Shepherd who loves to get dirty. Bathing her is a major ordeal. I got this system through a crowd funding site. I don't think the water spray penetrated to her skin but I did end up with a tank of really dirty water. The best part of the package was the all in one rake/shedding tool. The BEST she'd tool I have EVER used. My shorter haired Terrorist. ..I mean terrier...was a perfect fit for this machine. He cleaned up in a flash and smells divine. Overall review is mixed. Didn't work great on large hairy dog but was ideal for my smaller shorter haired mutt. Best of all was that I stayed dry the whole time and it was 1/3 of the time spent to get a clean dog

It worked well, and is quieter than expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The main challenge was a confused dog. The dog being a terrier, and me bing old, I put her on the washing machine with a towel under her. Following the instructions,(most things work better when you do.) I filled one tank with water, and the one which holds the shampoo with of course with the shampoo. I shampooed her all over except the head, as per instructions. Then I push the switch to rinsed her like I'd shampooed her. Then I towel dried her. Her being a smaller dog I didn't run out ot either water or shampoo. I used about half of each. I'd guess a really large dog may use all the water and shampoo before finishing .

Not as easy as commercial

I tried using this today. Just got delivered today. The water comes out even if I am not pressing button. Dog was very wet. Also the part that holds shampoo keeps falling over.
