As my wife and I age we have been doing what we can to make our home easier to live in as we get ready for retirement. Our county in Maine is experiencing some strong winds from an unusual direction for us and causing large area blackouts. We our one of a few with this type of generator on our and other than the internet being disrupted for a couple of we have no disruption in our daily routine. I have now owned my Generac 22KW generator for a little over a year now and knock on wood, I've had it kick on only a few times. When it was called on it worked flawlessly and was such a comfort to know that I wasn't required to do anything on my part. Here in Alabama it's not uncommon for serious storms to happen almost any month of the year. Not having to drag out a generator, extension cords and gasoline is not something I'll ever miss. Great product.

I would like to commend the two electricians who installed our generator, Nick Blakeman and Jake Blakeman, from Great Lakes Electrical Contracting. They arrived on time, worked with the plumber and afterwards with professional efficiency. When the job was done they went through some features and directions and suggestions with my wife and I, and set us up with our wifi and the app to use. They were a pleasure to deal with in every way.

Installed Dec 2019, Westhaven, would listen to it start up and run every two weeks for 10 minutes to keep itself ready. Power went out January 2021 for two days, it fired up 10 seconds after power went out and never shut down. Ran everything in the house no problem and we were the only ones around able to do everything we normally do in our house. Had friends come over in the morning to go duck hunting and they said it was weird as we were only home with lights on. Best investment ever !!!!!!!!

The generator is unobtrusive and the sound it makes when we were without power was welcome (as were the lights and HVAC)! The mobile link feature, however, needs to be improved (set up was a challenge even for someone with a technology background). But that is a minor complaint compared to the security of having power when it is needed.

We needed a backup generator for our home, and when the power was out we were happy to hear it hum. However, after the first use of this product it broke down and the wires were fried. After consulting with customer service, they said the warranty wouldn’t cover it, they blamed lightning for causing the problem. Then they sent a bill to cover the diagnostic cause even though we already knew what the problem was. I would not recommend using their services at all, unless you want poor quality coverage and usage.

I live way out in the boonies and we are usually the first ones to lose power when it happens and the last ones to get it back, so having the peace of mind that no matter the time or conditions this beauty will come on and keep my house warm or cool as the seasons determine is money in the bank.

Our prior, 20 year old generator was 10KW. We just had this 22KW generator installed which gives us terrific flexibility as to the amount of circuits we were able to attach. It seems to be a powerful, smooth running generator with a nice understated appearance. I'm sure we'll be even more pleased at the first outage!

Knowing that the generator automatically provided electricity for the whole house is very comforting. The installers were very professional and completed everything in one day. Having the annual maintenance agreement ensures that the unit will be taken care of every year

This whole house system is a must. With frequent power outages common in our area there's no need to worry now that we have a 22kw Guardian. We don't have to leave home or spend thousands of dollars on hotel rooms and eating out in the event of a major catastrophe. All I can say is if you can get one, go for it. You will thank yourself when it automatically kicks on. This system has the potential to pay for itself.
