Not very fast-rising

Works well enough, but bread and rolls take a lot longer to rise than with my usual brand of instant yeast.

It's a good price but does not rise as well as Fleishman's. I will spend the extra money for the better yeast.

You get a ton of yeast for the money. I test the yeast before baking and it definitely foams. unfortunately it doesn't rise much. i wish it did.

Horrible product. The yeast only stays alive for days to a few weeks after opening, despite properly storing it accorsing to their instructions. It looks like a great deal but you are wasting your money. I love all the products that I get from Sam's Club and this review is not meant to bash them. But Bellarise needs to do better. Complete waste. The yeast dies too quickly and you are wasting your money.

Dead

This last batch was mostly dead, and I've used Sam's Club yeast in the past with good results. It's kept in the freezer, in an airtight glass jar, and the second factory vacuum sealed bag was also kept in the freezer from the time of purchase. With 400ml of 100F water and a tsp of sugar, the yeast does almost nothing. I was wondering why my last couple batches of bread didn't rise right. This time I did the yeast test first, and found out... the yeast is bad. The use date still has more than a year left on it, and like I said, it was frozen from the time of purchase. After the yeast in the glass jar from the first bag didn't show any activity, I opened the second factory sealed and frozen bag. I waited a day for it to warm up, and tried the test again, and same results of nearly zero activity. I just ordered more yeast of another brand, from the US and not Turkey, which is where this yeast comes from, and is a long way to ship live yeast. Evidently they had a bad lot that went out, or it was killed by heat during shipment or storage. Not worth the risk to use when US produced yeast is available for a couple bucks more for 2 lbs. Yeast has only one job, and when it doesn't do it, look for another that will.

Never tried Bellarise. I've been using Fleishmann's for decades, never an issue. I keep the unopened one in the freezer and opened in the fridge.
