I am genuinely appalled at the quality of this premium-priced patio set. The furniture is comfortable, but the manufacturing and quality control are severely lacking. While most individual defects are small, the sheer volume of them is truly shocking. But what is more disappointing is that these defects were clearly known, as evidenced by the sloppy attempts to cover them with poorly matching paint. This is not a cheap set. When paying this price, I expected to receive new, high quality furniture. Instead, I was disappointed to receive a patio set that feels like a refurbished used model that has suffered a death by a thousand cuts. This is not at all typical for a set in this price range.
The amount of issues with this suggested that this is not a one off mistake. Instead it points to a systemic quality control issue.
I documented over 30 defects across this set before stopping counting. There are actually quite a few more. These include exposed base layer, scratches, visible touch ups, inconsistent fabric dye, premature finish breakdown at edges and contact points etc. Importantly, there are defects across all three separate pieces. I want to be clear that every image is a different defect...no repeats.
But again, what is more upsetting is what feels like intentional deception. It is clear the factory was aware of these defects because they attempted to hide them with mismatched touch-up paint. They knew the item was damaged and sold it at a premium price anyway.
The only reason I am not returning this item is because of concern for our environmental impact. Given the amount of damage, this item is not able to be resold ethically and will end in a landfill, which I would like avoid. It will serve as imperfect patio furniture, but I am very disheartened to have paid a premium for something I could have bought secondhand with as many defects as it has.
