Best summers i have ever owned.

Bought these tires trying to find something durable to run on my f-350. after one rotation and 40,000 km last summer I have 50-60% tread left and great fuel economy. i got noticeably less mileage when i put on my winters. i drive hard in many road conditions and love these tires. I average 1500 km per week and have nothing but good to say about these tires.

Tire Quality

I have been buying Michelin tires for 40 years now. Overall I have been quite satisfied with the wear patterns, reliability and service life of the tires. I have had Michelin tires on light trucks, vans, SUV's, sedans, sports cars and mid-range trucks. The Defender LTX M/S for my 2015 RAM 2500 4x4 Turbo diesel 3/4 ton truck only lasted 20 months and less than 30,000 miles. They were religiously rotated every 5,000 miles, not used for heavy loads or towing, little mountain road driving and no off road use. They all four (4) wore evenly but did not reach any where near the 50,000 service life expectancy.

Tie noise

The Michelin Defenders 265 50r 20 tires on my 2014 jeep grand cherokee make a lot of noise. I am really disappointed with that part of the tire. I have been using Michelin tires on my vehicles for over 20 years and will continue to do so. Help me out Michelin what is going on with the noisy ti

98,000 miles!

Unbelieveable product! This is my third set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires. I replaced my LTX M/S tires with LTX M/S 2. MY LTX M/S TIRES LASTED 98,000 MILES AND STILL HAS 4/32" TREAD LEFT! All performance attributes were still great including wet traction and low noise. Replaced them just to be safe. I've not purchased tires anywhere but Tire Rack since 1985 and see no reason to switch tire brands or retailer.

Very happy!

Purchased these tires in October 2016 after much research. I can not afford to buy "winter" tires as well as three season tires for my F150, so I decided to find the best all around tire that I could find. I researched all different brands and decided on the Michelin's. I am so happy with my choice. I drive approximately 30km to work every day, mostly on back country roads. When it snows they are plowed but usually still snow covered. These tires stop the truck better than any other tire I have ever had on any vehicle. I look forward to many kilometers of driving with these awesome tires.

Second Try with Michelin

I purchased the predecessor (Non Defender) LTX M/S tires about 2.5 years ago. Warranty was for 70,000 miles but I only made it to 47,000 miles and was at or below the wear bars. Tires were rotated and balanced every 7500 miles. I did get credit back for the shortfall in mileage and now have the Defender tires on my truck. Hopefully this time they will make it to the 70K. Pretty disappointed in the fact that my first set of Michelin's did so poorly. Truck is just a daily driver not used for work. Tires performed well but 47K is not even close to the warranty.

Disappointed.

Smooth enough ride, feels like a sure grip ... but a tad noisy compared to our previous tires. The biggest disappointment is with the mileage. After expecting a modest improvement based on the marketing claims, our mileGe actually dropped from 10.7 to 11.5 with our mid-sized SUV ... same driving environment and driving habits ... 25/75 city/highway driving. Would not recommend these tires yet, based on our 2,000 km experience. The value just isn't there. We were expecting more from our first ( and, sadly, probably our last) purchase of this brand.

When Excellence is your only option

I have been an Undercarriage Specialist for a number of years. I've worked for several major tire companies and a few new car dealerships. I've been involved in the design of custom off-road and race track suspensions. I understand the geometry and physics of achieving maximum performance from a tire. Most importantly, I've experienced the quality and performance of many brands of tires. From my early years as a Front End Alignment mechanic, I noticed the Michelin Tire presented the least amount of problems and failures, and always has. In the long run, Michelin is the most inexpensive form of safety and reliability I could purchase.

Michelin Defender LT27570R18

I put these tires on my diesel pickup. I pull a 40 ft fifth wheel trailer. They really are nice on the hwy. They rid a lot better that the original Michelin tires from the factory when new. When driving on roads that have been cracked filled across the width of the lanes with tar, they take most of the bumps out .and gives a nice smooth ride. I have not found anything with these tires that I do not like. They are good. So far so good but then I have always liked Michelin Tires.

Vibration is an issue

I always buy Michelin. I installed a set of these tires on my F-150 December 2016. When it's very cold these tires literally shake my truck as if they are solid, I am talking temperatures in the teens. They ride like that for miles. As the temperatures warm up, they still shake quite a bit until they are driven maybe 20 miles at expressway speeds. At temperatures over 65 degrees, these tires ride smooth as glass, so I know that my vehicle does not have any mechanical issues. I can't stand the vibrations these tires cause, very annoying ride! I more than likely will have to dispose of a brand new set of tire and find something else.
