Unknown objects in the potatoes.

I purchased these last week. There are many hard black pea sized object in here. I am glad I was paying attention and did not bite into. I called the store I purchased from and nobody answers. That's nice.) I really wanted to speak to someone from where they came from.(AR West) I called the main office number there and was routed to Wal Mart customer support. They then gave me a number and said it was Sam's. I called and it was a marketing number that said that I had won a $100 gift card (To try to sell me something) That was not a Sam's number at all! I do not know what is in these potatoes, but it is disgusting. They are usually fine. No quality checks? To make a bad thing worse was trying to obtain some customer support. It is non existent. P.S. For some reason I cannot upload the picture to this review.

NOT GOOD - reviews don't lie

I read reviews before purchasing, but was in a bind and needed premade mashed potatoes (along with other items). I took a chance and thought maybe it won't be that bad? I was wrong. Texture is fine, but taste is off. Sweet with a slight sour taste I couldn't pinpoint. Added salt, didn't help. Offputting flavor. Will never buy this brand again.

Taste Like Instant Potatoes

I always make my own Yukon Gold or butter mashed potatoes but saw the ingredients were simple and they were on sale. I thought I'd try them since they were rated so high. All I can say is the tasted like boxed instant potatoes. No way are these fresh made. I asked 2 other people to try and they said the same thing. Don't waste your money unless you are ok with instant potatoes!

Not good, tasted spoiled

Tried these as an in store sample and they tasted great. A few weeks later I purchased them for New Year's Day dinner and the taste and consistency were much different than those sampled in the store. The ones purchased were very runny and tasted spoiled....actually tasted like vinegar which is not an ingredient. I expect it was a bad batch or perhaps the manufacturer didn't keep them refrigerated and they spoiled. (The use by date is two weeks from now, so definitely not due to them being old.) I will not purchase again and risk the same outcome.

Extremely Bad

I have purchased these many times, and recently (in the last 5 months) they have been TERRIBLE! They taste like they've gone bad, almost like the milk or cream used in them is sour. They were extremely runny too. These are literally the worst mashed potatoes EVER!

OK

These gold mashed potatoes are OK. I bought them because we really like the Members Mark white mashed potatoes but they were not in stock. I won?t buy the gold again but not sorry that I did buy them. They don?t have a good flavor and aren?t as creamy as the white potatoes.

Surprisingly good

I was pleasantly surprised at how good these were. I usually only buy Bob Evans mashed potatoes as the other brands I've tried have been nasty but these are really good. I actually preferred these to Bob Evans as they had a better natural potato flavor.

These are awul (the old variety was great)

The brand from a few years back was great, as was the previous Member's Mark version, but it was only around for like a year before the reformulated it with this. These new potatoes are awful -- none of the great whipped texture or lightly seasoned flavor of the previous versions. These are yellow and taste like butter flavoring and potato flakes Please go back!

DELICIOUS TIME SAVER

Not sure what people have for taste buds leaving bad reviews. My wife is a steak and potato kind of gal and we'd make homemade mashed about every week. These pretty much taste the same if not better. And. Saves me about 40 minutes of messing around with potatoes. This also has fooled many family members including the mother in law. Can't go wrong here, especially for an event.

Microwave Only

Just know this is microwave only. The container cannot be put in the oven, even though it looks oven-safe. We do not use a microwave, and I threw out the instructions, but since it looks like every other oven-safe container, I thought it would be fine. It's totally my fault, but the company should know that not everyone uses a microwave. Even if I had read the instructions, I would have tried it because it should be heat-safe, right? Melted in the oven.
