How do I start a fire?

Place two larger logs on the ground parallel to each other while placing smaller logs crossed on top of the larger logs. Place any kindling/wood scraps underneath the smaller logs. Proceed to light the fire source underneath the smaller logs until you have a consistent flame.

Does the firewood need to be stored indoors?

We always recommend storing your firewood under some sort of shelter (e.g., a tarp or overhang gutter) if possible. If you are unable to store it under shelter, try to keep the wood off the ground. Wood can reabsorb moisture from the ground when it is wet, hindering its ability to dry out. Normal, moderate rainfall won't harm the wood as long as it is not already wet when you attempt to burn it.

Is the wood safe to be stored inside?

It is always a judgment call whether to bring an outdoor product inside, but all of our wood is kiln-dried, which effectively eliminates any mold or insects that may be present. Therefore, the wood is safe to be kept indoors.
