If you have a well and live in an area with hard water, you need a water softener ... AND Morton Softener Pellets are what you need to soften the water and take care of that problem.  Softened water means that it's harder to "suds up" in the shower - and when that happens, you just feel like you don't get clean.  Additionally, in some areas the hard water tastes terrible and mineral deposits build up in your plumbing system.  Some folks I know that also have hard water end up having to replace their toilets every few years due to that.  We've been using 44 lb. bags of Morton Clean and Protect Water Softener Pellets for decades.  They last a long time and do the job.  In addition to the health and comfort benefits, think of using these as necessary maintenance for your plumbing sysems.  It may be a cliche, but it's true:  this is a product that can literally change your life.  I recommend it.

Hard water bad; soft water good

Morton Clean and Protect Water Softener pellets have worked great in my home softener. The large pellets make it easier to fill the softener, and the bag can be easily opened at a corner, where the edge tears off, creating an ideal way to pour the salt out.

My Preferred Salt

It's rock salt for my softener.  It does what it's supposed to.  I always buy this brand.  I bought 2 bags and when loading into my truck the bottom heat-sealed seam on one bag came loose.  Rock salt chunks chunks went everywhere.

It makes having to get salt so much easier.  All you do is order and they bring it to the car and put it in the trunk.  I only have to lift it once rather than 3 times 😊

Easy Peasy

I've used other brands and nothing lasts as long in my water softener as other brands.  It seems more dense and melts slower than the others.  I can go an extra 3 or 4 days before refilling the softener.

Morton saves me money

This is the only water softener salt to use in our unit! I am able to order it for pickup (when required $$ is met) so I don't have to go in store; helps a senior citizen! The price is awesome!

Stick with the BEST

These work, of course. They've been around for decades, so they mush. I only wish they were sold in 25 pound bags rather than 40. (I'm 70) I've solved it by opening the bags on the floor and using a large scoop to dump them into the reservoir until the bag is about 25 pounds and I'm able to lift it up to the rim at about 6' from floor level.

I wish they were sold in smaller bags.

44lbs salt for water softener which are very expensive compared to other retailers. It is cheaper to buy from Menards or Hone Depot for the same weight or more. Sam's Club has failed to provide a discounted bulk product.
