What Makes Sour Patch Kids Extreme Different from the Original?

A delicious soft and chewy, sour gummy candy, Sour Patch Kids Extreme bursts with flavor and color. First, you'll pucker up from the sour taste, then your mouth will broaden into a smile as the sweet taste develops. Sour Patch Extreme is a version of the same candy you might have first tasted with original Sour Patch Kids box in 1985.

What are Some Ways to Enjoy Sour Patch Kids Extreme?

Buying Sour Patch Kids in bulk leaves open plenty of possibilities for walking through the candy sour patch. The obvious is that they're ideal for after lunch or for a movie time snack. Then the not-so-obvious is that they can be used as a topper for waffles, ice cream, cookies, cakes and donuts.

Fun Facts about Sour Patch Kids

Sour Patch Kids were originally called Mars Men, created by a Canadian confectioner, Frank Galatolie. When Jaret International introduced the candy to the U.S. in 1985, the company changed the name to Sour Patch Kids. The original flavors were lemon, lime, orange and cherry. Blue raspberry was added in 2014. The United Kingdom has its own flavors of Sour Patch Kids, which include blackcurrant.

The original packaging, which featured a blonde kid with his tongue sticking out, was drawn based on Galatolie's son. Since 2010, the packaging has featured the candy itself.

A Sour Patch Kids video game called World Gone Sour features a Sour Patch Kid on a quest to be eaten.
