About Convertible Cribs
You might have heard of convertible cribs and wondered what they really are. Convertible cribs are just as they sound like: cribs that convert. It's essentially a baby crib that can transform into different types of beds, ultimately lasting your child for many years. They start as a basic baby crib and can later be changed into other types of bed with little to no difficulty. Some makers of convertible cribs label them as 2-in-1, 3-in-1, or 4-in-1 convertible cribs. This can sometimes be confusing due to the fact that there is no standard numbering system.
What Can It Convert To?
A convertible crib may transform from a crib into a toddler bed, daybed or even into a full-size bed. The Serta Barrett 4-in-1 Convertible Crib is perfect for every new baby since, once your little one is ready to transition from a crib to a bigger bed, the Serta Barrett 4-in-1 Convertible Crib easily transitions with your child into a toddler bed, a daybed, and finally a full-size bed with conversion kits that are sold separately.
What Is a JPMA Certification?
Those in the market for baby products are likely to find the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) seal on many of the items they consider. The JPMA certification seal means that a baby product has undergone testing by an independent facility and met the standards set by ASTM International. JPMA is a national trade association of about 300 companies that make or import baby products, that conducts a program that certifies manufacturers. While JPMA certification is a useful product reference point, not all babies' and children's products are included in the program. However, these products must still meet the federal standards and may be recalled if they are not in compliance.
