Schwebel's 'taliano Bread combines a classic, old Italian bread recipe with high-quality ingredients to create this flavorful loaf. Perfect with pasta, marinara sauce and spaghetti sauce, these Schwebel's bread slices are great for dipping, making a sandwich, and toasting up garlic bread.

What Can I Pair With Schwebel's 'taliano Bread?

The possibilities are endless with Schwebel's 'taliano Bread. Here are a few of our favorite ways to eat it and what to pair with these flavorful slices:

  • Simply serve a slice at your family's next spaghetti night and ensure everyone enters the "clean plate club" with this tasty bread that can soak up sauce.
  • Have leftover pasta sauce you don't want to go bad and no pasta to pair it with? Heat up your pasta sauce and use it as a dipping sauce for this sliced Italian bread.
  • Serve Schwebel's 'taliano Bread warm by spreading butter, margarine or olive oil onto your slices and bake in an oven at 350°F for about ten minutes.
  • Smash half of an avocado on Schwebel's 'taliano Bread and top with salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, an egg, and hot sauce for a healthy breakfast or snack.
  • Craving toast that's a little sweeter? Even though Schwebel's 'taliano Bread is savory, it tastes great with sugary toppings too. We like peanut butter, banana, hazelnut spread and pomegranate seeds.
  • For your next party, serve up a classy appetizer. Cut Schwebel's 'taliano Bread slices into fourths, drizzle with olive oil, and pop them in the oven at 350° F for about ten minutes. When they're crunchy and browning, pull them out and top with fresh mozzarella, tomato slices (grape tomatoes work best), a fresh basil leaf and drizzle with balsamic vinegar.

How Do I Make Garlic Bread With Schwebel's 'taliano Bread?

To make garlic bread, start by preheating your oven to 350°F. In a small saucepan on medium heat, melt together butter, dried parsley and garlic powder or minced garlic. As your saucepan simmers, line your slices of Schwebel's 'taliano Bread on a baking tray or cookie sheet. We highly recommend using tin foil, parchment paper or silicone baking mats for easy cleanup!

Using a basting brush or even just a spoon, generously brush each slice with your melted butter mixture. Flip each slice and repeat. Bake in the preheated oven for about ten minutes, watching carefully that your bread doesn't burn. Remove the slices when the bread turns golden brown. While the slices are still hot, sprinkle them with mozzarella cheese and any remaining butter mixture if you desire. Return to oven for five more minutes to melt the cheese.

What's the Story Behind Schwebel's Baking Co.?

American-born company that makes Schwebel's 'taliano Bread has been delighting families with delicious breads, buns and other bread products since 1906. It all started in Youngstown, Ohio. Wife and husband team Joseph and Dora Schwebel's kitchen is the grassroots of the entire operation. Joseph would bake his renown rye bread throughout the night, then Dora deliver the loaves by bicycle early in the morning. The Schwebel name and tasty goodies are still around today.
