Our philosophy is simple and has not changed – we stay true to what we do. Since 1983, that is what we’ve been doing. San Luis Sourdough bread originates from San Luis Obispo, a small, off-beat coastal town located in central California. The bakery was founded by two artisan bread bakers. Their signature sourdough bread quickly became a California favorite for those that seek a truly authentic sourdough flavor. All of our unique breads are made using simple ingredients and slow baked to perfection providing a full, robust sourdough flavor with a crusty texture. It takes nearly 30 hours to create a single loaf of San Luis Sourdough Bread to achieve its delicious sourdough flavor and bubbly rustic crust. Each loaf of San Luis Sourdough bread has its own signature - our bakers score each by hand before it enters into the oven to be slow baked. We are proud that our breads are non-GMO Project Verified while maintaining great taste, a true authentic California sourdough.
