Pacifico Clara Mexican Import Lager Beer (12 fl. oz. bottle, 24 pk.)
About this item
- Mexican pilsner-style beer
- Discovered in Baja, imported by surfers
- 4.4% ABV
The Pacifico Brewery, located in beautiful Mazatlán, Mexico, was founded in 1900 by German settlers and acquired by Grupo Modelo in 1954. Its unique packaging and distinctive taste made Pacifico a popular choice with American surfers who brought it into the U.S., and in 1985 Grupo Modelo began exporting Pacifico to the United States.
Pacifico appeals to consumers coast to coast who live life as a journey and a collection of adventures and experiences. Pacifico's ties to the more rugged, off-the-beaten-path part of Mexico helps them discover that adventure is where you find it.
In the early ’70s, surfers from Southern California traveled down the rugged Baja coast, exploring the breaks along the way. During these journeys, they often stopped by tiny cantinas where locals introduced them to Pacifico. Over time, the surfers began bringing cases of Pacifico back to the U.S., making them the beer’s first importers.
