Usually, I purchase fresh crabs from the Bay when I visit my son in DC. Because it's way cheaper than buying packaged. I was very worried about paying the price for this product, but I had a taste for crab cakes and dislike imitation crab meat. So I bought it and once I opened and poured it out I was relieved. It actually was a good amount of meat, fresh in taste and no shells were found. I got 8 medium sized crab cakes out of this container.

Fresh taste

No weird flavor, just crab meat.  Taste just like a crab youd get at the beach, but with out the work and mess.  Just as expensive too.  But when i have the craving, it hits the spot.

As expected,  just crab meat.

There's a lot of crab packed into this container. It's perfect for my soups, pastas and crab cakes. Well worth the price and no fuss.

Worth the price

Wonderful in crabcakes and crab salad! I purchased more than needed for a party where baked crab cakes were served,Those leftovers for the next 2 days were marvelous. With still a pound  left, we put some in gazpacho and a divine salad in avocados. A real indulgence once in a while at an affordable price.

Too Much is Never Enough!

The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because of the pieces of shell that was in it that's unnoticeable, I used it in a seafood pasta

It's so fresh it is definitely among the best

Meat is sweet and tasty just the price is what I don't like

Label states "Lump Crab Meat" , over half was shredded and stringy.
Quality is definitely slipping from past (20+ years) purchases of this product.

I was expecting more chunks of crab meat. It was more stringy than lumpy. Still better than canned crab I have had.

Crab Meat

It's alright for the price, but it's definitely not the best grade of LUMP crab meat that they've had. There is little to no shell in it thought and that is a great thing.

Was disappointed in this brand of crabmeat.  It had few lumps and mostly broken up/shredded like .  It was more like 'Special' .  The taste was good though.
