I haven't fully installed the system yet, but I have it on my desk checking everything.  i also ordered a two pack or the WiFi add-on cameras and have those installed and up and running.  The camera angel is great as is the quality of the images.  I have yet to figure out the intricacies of programming each camera, but I'll get there. I really like being able to add the additional 4 WiFi cameras and setup was easy once I got the cameras on the 2.4 of my mesh system.  At first, when I added the WiFi cameras the app would recognize them as separate devices and the app would not let me add the WiFi cameras to the DVR.  To get it to work, I had to temporarily turn off everything except the 2.4 on my mesh because at first the app or the DVR was not recognizing the WiFi cameras as additions to the DVR. In the end, everything worked as advertised and I think I'll be very happy with the system.  I want to add that the presales team was very responsive to me.  Also, there is a ton of support videos on the Night Owl site that walks you though everything..

Pretty Easy Setup & It's Working Great

The DVR is working great. Only have one negative comment. The unit supports 10 cameras. I am using 6. I cannot find a way to disable the other 4 unused cameras and they fill one third of the TV screen with unused blank camera spaces. Other than that a good security system.

I bought this as an upgrade for to go with the cameras already installed. Works better than before. So pleased with product.

Great features!

They are a nice upgrade from our old 8 camera system with Night Owl but the app does seem to lag more, and I can't move from screen to screen as easily as the old system.

camera system is easy to set up but camera are a little snowy not real clear, over all easy to work

Positives of this product are that the color and picture clarity is good.  Easy to install, connects to both monitor and phone app.
Negatives of this product is that video relay to screen is a little delayed and the wide angle distortion starts to far from the camera for our needs.

I am disappointed that FTD4-81-8L does not support single channel viewing sequentially through active channels. Not being able to view channels sequentially on FTD4-81-8L is a letdown. I wish FTD4-81-8L had a function that allowed for single channel viewing in a sequential order.

For assistance I went to YouTube as instructed, then tried chat, finally found a number to call. I selected English, the female proceeded to make fun of my name in Spanish, some other female laughed. I asked if I was calling Night Owl, she said yes it's technical support. In Spanish I asked what was so funny about my name, she hung up on me. I called right back to complain, I was told all calls are monitored? End result I will return cameras after various attempts plus 3 calls, due to rudeness, lack of customer service and language barrier after I requested someone that could understand me. They are not permitted to disclose if they are located in another country.

Bad experience

Went in and out, it was out of service most of the time. I had to return it.
