About this item

Moët Impérial is the House's iconic champagne. Created in 1869, it embodies the unique Moët & Chandon style, a style that distinguishes itself by its bright fruitiness, seductive palate and elegant maturity. A palate combining generosity and subtlety. The delicious generosity of white fruits (pear, peach, apple). The alluring caress of fine bubbles. The soft vivacity of citrus fruit and gooseberry nuances.

Founded in 1743, Moët & Chandon contributed to introducing champagne to the world by offering a range of unique wines for every occasion. From iconic Moët Impérial to the Grand Vintage Collection, from the extroverted Moët Rosé Impérial to the innovative Moët Ice Impérial, each champagne dazzles and delights with a bright fruitiness, an enticing palate and an elegant maturity. Since its founding, Moët & Chandon has been a champagne of choice to celebrate historical moments or private moments of great personal importance. For each of life’s memorable moments, Moët & Chandon has a style of champagne that marks the moment in a very unique way.

Moet & Chandon first implemented a sustainable viticulture program back in 2000. In 2014, the Maison was awarded a double sustainable viticulture and high-quality environmental certification for the entirety of its estate. This certification, verified by the independent organisation Ocacia, includes 124 measurable, quantifiable criteria and incorporates all aspects of wine growing - from planting through to waste processing. Preservation of the landscape around the vicinity of the Maison’s plots is encouraged via the cultivation of 180 hectares of biodiversity reservoirs—including ponds, shrub hedgerows, floral meadows and forest—and 95% of the Maison’s vineyards now have grass cover. The 10 years since 2008 have seen a decrease of 50% in the use of phytosanitary products. In 2012, the Maison was the first in the world to invest in an electric straddle-tractor for use in viticulture—the mechanical soil tillage enabling a reduction in the use of herbicides. Moet & Chandon now has a fleet of 8 electric tractors with the objective of growing this to 20 tractors by 2020. Finally, Moet & Chandon is working with more than 2,000 growers to help them to become individually-certified in sustainable viticulture, notably through training sessions with the support of the CIVC and local Chambers of Agriculture.
