What Can You Make With These Caramel Candy Bars?
The Milky Way Simply Caramel Single has more possibilities than just eating it frozen or at room temperature. The added caramel makes these an amazing addition to blended milkshakes, crushed in ice cream or any creamy, frozen treat. Don't stop at the freezer, though. Putting a candy bar in the food processor opens up a whole new world of baking opportunities. People have put Milky Way candy bars into pie crusts, cookies, blondies and brownies. If you're not such a fan of baking experimentation, you can add it to no-bake cookies, cheesecakes, rice cereal treats and popcorn.
How Long Have Milky Way Candy Bars Been Around?
The Milky Way candy bar originated in 1923 after three years of research and was the first candy bar made with filling. It was inspired by the chocolate malt milkshakes that were popular at the time. It was an instant success. Not long after, in 1926, the Milky Way was introduced nationally in chocolate and vanilla, each for five cents. In 1932, the Milky Way bar was sold as a two piece set, but after four years the chocolate and vanilla flavors parted forever. Now, Milky Way has at least four different flavors available, including the Milky Way Simply Caramel Single.
