<h3>Attract Pollinators with Phlox</h3> <p>Phlox is a vibrant and fragrant flower that comes in a variety of bold colors including white, pink, purple, blue, and red. Not only does it add a splash of color to your garden, but it also serves as a magnet for pollinators. Pollinators play a crucial role in the ecosystem by aiding in the reproduction of most flowering plants through the transfer of pollen from bloom to bloom. Unfortunately, the population of these vital creatures has been declining due to habitat loss and disease, making the addition of pollinator-friendly plants like Phlox to your garden even more important.</p> <h3>Planting and Care Instructions</h3> <p>Phlox thrives in porous soil that drains well but still retains enough water for the roots. If your soil is heavy clay that drains slowly, or sandy and doesn't hold water, consider adding organic soil amendments such as peat moss or ground bark. To plant, spread a 3-4" layer of soil amendment, add fertilizer, and incorporate both into the soil to a depth of 10". Dig a hole and place the root(s) at the recommended depth and spacing. Cover with soil and water thoroughly.</p> <h3>Large Quantity Planting</h3> <p>If you're planting a large quantity of Phlox in one bed, it's recommended to excavate the entire area to the recommended depth, work fertilizer into the bottom of the trench, place the plants, and then cover the roots all at once. This method ensures that all plants receive the same amount of nutrients and water.</p> <h3>Watering and Fertilizing</h3> <p>While Phlox is actively growing, it requires frequent and thorough watering so that the water reaches the roots. Mulching can help keep the soil cool and prevent it from drying out. For optimal growth and flowering, apply fertilizer before and after the flowering period.</p>

The bulbs were healthy but in one of the boxes I only received 7 instead of 8.  I already have this plant and I must say it is one of my favorites.  They come up every year and the flowers last for most of the summer.  This plant is a must!
