Production Methods
Josh Cellars Cabernet is made from hand-picked grapes processed at the peak of flavor development. The grapes used in this elegant blend all come from high-quality growing regions in California such as Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties. The grapes are then crushed and cold soaked for a full day. Processes are followed to ensure the highest level of flavor extraction, including an extended maceration technique.

Joseph Carr’s dad, Josh, was a volunteer firefighter, so supporting the men and women who selflessly protect their communities has always been close to our hearts. Supporting the military has always been important to Josh Cellars, as our namesake, Josh Carr, served in the U.S. Army. Operation Gratitude is an organization that helps to forge personal connections between the American public and active duty service members, veterans, and first responders by creating opportunities to express gratitude.
About the Company
Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon was created by Joseph Carr and named after his father of the same name who went by the name of Josh. This wine was the first of many by the family-owned wine company after the owner spent over two decades as a sommelier and then an executive in the wine industry. Josh Cellars were launched in 2007 and has consistently sought to represent the best of California in each and every bottle of wine they sell.
Flank Steak with Chimichurri Sauce Recipe
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 flank steak (about 1 ¾ to 2 lbs)
- 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. Josh Cabernet Sauvignon, divided
- 5 garlic cloves chopped (about 2 Tbsp.), divided
- 1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 2 cups fresh parsley leaves
- 1 Tbsp. fresh oregano leaves
- 1/4 tsp. red chili pepper flakes
Instructions
- Place flank steak in shallow baking dish. Combine 1/4 cup wine and 1 Tbsp. garlic in small bowl. Pour over steak and refrigerate 2 hours. Turn steak, and marinate another 2 hours
- Mix salt and pepper in small bowl
- Combine olive oil, 2 Tbsp. wine, remaining garlic, parsley, oregano, chili flakes, and ½ teaspoon of the salt & pepper mixture in a blender or food processor. Blend, then transfer to a small bowl and refrigerate
- Heat grill to high. Remove steak from marinade and season both sides with salt & pepper mixture. Grill about 4-5 minutes per side depending on thickness of steak, turning once. (The internal temperature in the thickest section of steak is 125°F for medium rare.) Remove steak from grill, cover and let rest 8-10 minutes
- Slice steak and serve with sauce
