When our Heineken A-Yeast is added, this is when Heineken magically transforms into the brew we all know and love. It all starts with barley. A grain bursting with goodness, containing starch, protein and fiber. After soaking, the barley is gently heated to dry out over the course of a few days. This meticulous process is called malting. Hops is a plant brimming with flavor. There are many varieties of hops, each with a distinctive flavor, from spicy aromas to mild herbal flavors. Selecting the right crop is an art form in itself. Water is the main ingredient in lager, it can make up an incredible 95% of the finished product. We discovered the special Heineken A-Yeast in the 19th century. Heineken mini keg tastes totally different than bottled or canned and is the only version of Heineken that we buy. The problem is, it is not sold year round at Samsclub and prior to this December, it wasn't in stock for over 3 years.

I've had the Heineken Original Lager Beer a few times, and it's a solid, consistent choice. The intensity is well-balanced-not too strong, but still flavorful enough to enjoy with or without food. The packaging is classic and recognizable, and it keeps the beer fresh and well-preserved. In terms of quality, it feels reliable every time, with a clean and crisp profile. The sensation is light and refreshing, especially when served cold, making it easy to drink. The clarity is excellent, with a bright golden color and a smooth, clear appearance in the glass. Overall, it's a dependable lager that delivers a refreshing and enjoyable experience.

Years ago I wasn’t the biggest Heineken beer fan. Yet it’s amazing what aging and some maturity can do. From the Netherlands “the freaky deeky Dutch,” I’m a fan of this lager. It’s a medium bodied beer, that can go with any food or occasion. You will pay more for this import, but it’s not price prohibitive. Then again you are getting quality.

Nothing beats a medium red steak with this. That’s my personal favorite, but chicken off a grill and this is perfect too. Alcohol content is 5%. I am happy to recommend this, whether for a family get together or corporate affair on the weekend. It’s simply a universally liked beer, which has some honey notes that generate a lot of flavor. Please be responsible. Don’t drink and drive. This one can be loved with the proper safety precautions in place, and this one can be sipped too, due to its delicious refreshing taste.

The beer was very foamy, tasted very good, as Heineken should, but buying the keg did not seem to be a good value.

My husband enjoys these lager beers after doing some car maintenance in the garage or yard work on his days off. He just relaxes and sits enjoys the surroundings around our house. He likes these especially when you place them in the freezer. It gets nice and cold, he pairs it with a bag of hot Cheetos. 🤣
