I work hard to lead a healthy lifestyle and rely on biometrics to keep me honest (along with a consultation with an MD every year or so). After decades of boring biometrics, I got a blood pressure reading that was a significant outlier to my baseline so I decided to get a home BPM to help me track trends over time.

The  Garmin website has quite a bit of content discussing the science behind their BPM and it is consistently reviewed as an accurate home blood pressure monitor, so I felt confident I would get accurate results.

It is an extremely comfortable and intuitive device to use, helping me remove all excuses for easy and quick readings. You can use a single reading or use the 3x setting, which takes three readings spaced one-minute apart to give you an average of the three. The readings are similar to what I get in a doctor's office, and automatically appear on my Fenix 7 and in the Garmin Connect app on my phone, making it easy to spot changes in my baseline early and have a clearer picture of actions that move the numbers up and down.

One of the best investments I've made recently to stay on top of my health. If you're a Garmin user already, this is a no-brainer. If you're not too deep in the Garmin universe, this is a great BPM to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Been having the yearly conversation with my doctor about high blood pressure. I'm low 40s and he kept talking about blood pressure meds. Bought this a few months back and used the app to start logging BP. Saw my DR yesterday and put the issue to bed. Officially got white coats in my file and no more BP med talk. This unit was very close to the one they had in readings.

The Index BPM is compact, making it practical to bring along when traveling. IT is relatively easy to use. The readings seem to be accurate. I especially like the fact that the readings are synced onto my Garmin Connect App, making it easy to track over time.

Compact and easy to use

I rarely forget to check my BP for the last two years, but RECORD KEEPING? 
I am looking forward to my appointment with my cardiologist in August and having ALL of my testing results right in my phone; along with my notes whenever numbers just don't seem to add up correctly.

Such a time AND records saver!

I was wanting to track my blood pressure and stress of my job and the pain I'm constantly have so I bought the BPM and it works great and sinks it to my app on my phone. I can then see all my data from my TACTIX 8 solar watch works perfectly together. I would recommend both the watch and the BPM blood pressure monitor!!!

BPM Smart Blood Pressure

I've tried a few different portable cuffs, both arm and wrist, and this one has consistently matched the reporting I see at the doctors office.  I appreciate the easy to adjust cuff, though it took me a little while to figure out a technique to keep the control unit from rotating around my arm while I tighten it.  I love that it is easy to stow, and fits into my travel gear nicely.  My only gripe is that it really should come with a hard travel/storage case.  The cuff is a magnet for dust and hair, so I usually just keep it stored in the box it was delivered in at home.  I won't deduct points from the units function for that, and that the instruction booklet didn't include instructions on how to swap the batteries.  I shouldn't have to google such a basic function of the device.  Again, not deducting points from the review since the device is still great.

Better than other similar options

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is high tech and takes very accurate readings. It is comfortable to wear and would really help with keeping track of blood pressure.

Pros: Easy to set up, easy to read the screen.

Cons: The Velcro band is difficult to use.  Where the rough part stops and fuzzy stuff starts, there is a fold in the band.  It's extremely difficult to get that to fasten correctly with one hand (especially for smaller arms, or ones that fasten right at that folding point).  The app integration is lacking.  I have a Fenix 6 watch.  If I want to add my blood pressure which is an option under health stats, I have to add it manually.  I also have issues to it connecting via wi-fi/bluetooth to the app on my phone.

I bought this blood pressure monitor because it's Garmin, and because I thought that it would automatically collect my data and give me the ability to see a comparison over time.  I still have yet to find that capability.  Although, I admit this could be user error.

The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it does what it's supposed to do.  It takes my blood pressure.  However, I do feel like the ability to use it on one's self could be easier, and the app could have some better functionality.

Could be a 5 star but...

I really ,like the capability of the device to upload to my Garmin Account where I can monitor all of my health parameters. However, this is the second one I have gotten, the first one only lasted about 6  months and then would get an E3 error and would not hold pressure, I tried other batteries, no help. I like the upload capability enough to try another one.

Great, when it works

I have had my Garmin BP for a month. It is not remotely close to being accurate. My BP normally is 118/74 (or close). My readings on this BP are 190/ 100. I would need to go to the ED with that number. I did a double check with my older monitor and the reading was much lower. I am going to need to return this unit. 
I have several other Garmin devices that I really like, so this was a dissapointment.
