Fuyugaki Persimmon Tree

<p>The Fuyugaki, or Fuyu, Persimmon is a small deciduous tree that produces medium-large, tomato-shaped fruit that tends to have distinct indentations that run up and down, making it appear almost square. This non-astringent persimmon is deep orange with a light orange flesh&nbsp;and ripens in late October or early November. The fruit is sweet and mild and can be eaten fresh or used in jellies and pies. It also keeps well so you can save some for later. Besides the fruit, the Fuyugaki is a good choice because it is pest and disease resistant. The tree grows to 20-30 feet tall and 20-30 feet wide. It requires full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It is semi-self pollinating. We graft the Fuyugaki Persimmon onto native American persimmon root stock. USDA Zones: Zone 8, Zone 9.</p>

This tree arrived in great shape, 4+ft tall with more than a dozen fruit. Lost 3 from shock, after 3 weeks tree is doing great and some of the fruit appears to be growing in size.

Arrived in a nice tall package and the plant is intact and beautifully grown. Price is right and great item to add in the yard.

Fuyugaki Persimmon

The first tree was horribly stressed and dying when I received it .they sent a replacement tree that is healthy and thriving in my fruit garden.  I'm very happy with this purchase.

Tree arrived within days.  Was securely packaged in 6 ft tall, thick cardboard with restraining bands. Planted it within days, and it is thriving.  My soil is sandy, but I prepared a bed of peat moss and garden soil.  New foliage almost immediately!  Very pleased with reasonable cost.

Great buy for a healthy tree!

I ordered a Fuyugaki Persimmon Tree. I was impressed with their packing, The tree is healthy, beautiful. I also received a separate instruction by mail of how to plant this tree. I am very satisfied with both the tree and the service. It has been a month and tree still looks healthy and green, I hope this tree will bear fruit some days.

I had purchase a tree and it was broken and 2 piece and when I call sams they wanted me to take it back to fed ex and then they told me that they didn't ship something with soil so finally I call them again and told me that I didn't have to ship it anymore I got a replacement and that one was ok . It wasn't a good experience

Persimmon tree

plant was delivered well packaged and healthy looking. we dug a hole 3x size of the tree root and added tree fertilizer when planted which worked well with a persimmon tree planted in our old house. Despite of watering it well daily for 3-4 days, it dropped all the leaves and we think it's dead. Sam's customer service was great with a refund though. Plan to try again with a smaller persimmon tree since the larger one is out of stock.

Didn't work for us

The tree was sick. Most of the leaves have curled up. Had to return it to a store.

What I received was an approximately 3 ft plant with 4 insect damaged, yellowing leaves. And all of the leaves had a gamut of spots ranging in colors (the black spots look fungal...and the purple spots certainly did not make this plant look healthy at all!). Now I have to make a trip to FedEx  to return this...what a waste of time and effort. Certainly will not be purchasing plants from Sam's anymore.
