What Are the Active Ingredients of FRONTLINE Plus for Cats and Kittens, Flea and Tick Treatment?
Frontline Plus for Cats uses two active ingredients to provide the best protection for your feline friend. The liquid uses fipronil to kill the adult fleas already on your pet. It also uses (s)-methoprene to kill eggs and larvae that may be infesting your furry friend’s coat. By destroying the eggs and larvae, this medication works to break the cycle of infestation.
How Many Doses Are in Each Flea and Tick Medicine for Cats Package?
Each flea and tick treatment for cats package contains eight months' worth of single-dose tubes. Do not use more than one tube per cat or kitten. Do not use the medication more than once every 30 days. If infestation continues to be an issue, contact your veterinarian. For a single pet, the package of FRONTLINE for cats should be more than ample for most of a year.
Can You Use FRONTLINE Cat Flea Treatment on Dogs?
Despite using the same active ingredients to treat both dogs and cats, it is not safe to use flea and tick FRONTLINE Plus for Cats on dogs. Different species of animals metabolize medication differently. As such, using the cat medication on your canine pal may result in severe illness. Do not use this or any other flea medication on rabbits, hamsters or guinea pigs. Consult your veterinarian for treatment options for your small mammals.
How Old Does Your Cat Need to be to Use?
Your pet must be at least eight weeks old to use FRONTLINE Plus for Cats and Kittens, Flea and Tick Treatment. Do not use on kittens younger than two months. Do not use on cats or kittens if they weigh less than one and a half pounds. Consult your vet for treatment options for younger or smaller kittens.
