What Comes in the Bundle?
The Midland Emergency Crank Radio Bundle comes with an emergency crank radio and a pair of two-way radio. Both of the radios provide you with advanced weather technology to keep you covered during any emergency event. The advanced weather technology comes in the form of NOAA Weather Alerts. NOAA Weather Alerts are a 24/7 radio broadcast that reports forecasts, current weather conditions and climate information. Programming is interrupted during severe weather with emergency broadcasts. The radios come with a USB charge cable and have built-in speakers and LCD displays. After the 25 hours of radio life run out, simply plug the radios into a power source with the USB charge cable.
The Midland crank radio comes with a renewable power source: use the hand crank or the solar power panel to keep your radio going in even the most dire conditions. Also, the Midland Emergency Crank Radio Bundle comes with a lithium-ion rechargeable battery backup. The radio also includes FM and AM radio for you to listen to your favorite radio stations from just about anywhere you want.
What's the Range of the Two-Way Radio?
The range of the two-way radio is up to 26 miles and has rechargeable battery packs. There are also 38 privacy tones and 22 GMRS/FRS Channels. GMRS stands for General Mobile Radio Service while FRS stands for Family Radio Service. The GMRS is a radio service that provides channels around 462 MHz and 467 MHz. GMRS channels are most commonly used for short-range radio communication over hand-held communicators and mobile radios. FRS channels operate within the same channel ranges as the GMRS, however, the GMRS requires a license from the FCC to operate. Essentially, this license is required because radios on GMRS frequencies are more powerful than radios that use FRS channels.
