Why Use Ground Coffee?
Eight O'Clock Original Ground Coffee, Medium Roast is ideal for the everyday coffee drinker and for anyone on the go. It's convenient and quick, removing the at-home grinding process where you can grind too much or too little, too fine or too coarse. With Eight O'Clock Coffee grounds, it's easy to simply pour your coffee into a drip coffee machine, reusable pod, French press or percolator and go. Less mess, no fuss.
What are Arabica Beans?
Eight O'Clock Original Ground Coffee, Medium Roast is made with 100% Arabica coffee beans. Like all other plants, coffee has its own taxonomy and there are over 100 different species of coffee. The two most popular are commonly referred to as Arabica and Robusta. Arabica is considered the superior choice which is why it's used by Eight O'Clock Coffee. Robusta beans contain about twice as much caffeine and chlorogenic acid than Arabica beans, which affects the taste of the coffee. Robusta coffee will generally taste more bitter, woody and leathery while Eight O'Clock coffee offers Arabica that tastes smooth, rich and slightly sweet.
What's the Difference Between Coffee Roasts?
The degree to which your Eight O'Clock Coffee beans are roasted is one of the most crucial factors that determine the taste of your coffee. Before roasting, green coffee beans have a grassy smell and little to no taste. Eight O'Clock Coffee uses expert roasters who transform the green tasteless beans into the crunchy, aromatic ones you know and love. Light roasts have an acidic, toasted grain taste. Medium roasts like this one from Eight O'Clock Coffee exhibit a balance between flavor, aroma, and acidity, while dark roasts will generally have a smoky taste.
