Finally a good vacuum for a decent price. I went back and forth about getting this, it's still a lot of money, but I'm glad I did. It is perfect for my one bedroom apartment with a cat on site. If I had any more rooms, the battery might just not be enough, but this is pretty great for my needs. It's a little less than what I'd expect on hard floors, but it does fine with a few passes. It's excellent on thick carpet and rugs though. The attachments are nice, cleaned my ceiling fans, got down in my heat ducts, etc. The container is a bit small but it's quick and easy to empty. Battery takes a bit to charge but that's not really been an issue. I'm happy I got this over the Shark of similar specs.

Good buy for the money.

Have been using my new Dyson stick Vacuum and I love it. It works as stated. I would've given it a five star except for the battery. If you run the vac on the higher mode the battery does draw down fairly quickly so if someone has a large house it may not cover the whole area. I use mine on the lower setting and the battery will last a while. Even running it on low it has a great suction. I have pets so I'm constantly keeping up the fur.

The vacuum is lightweight and works great.  I do wish the battery lasted longer before needing charged.  I also didn't realize I had to hold the power button the entire time I vacuum.  I do not recommend if you have any issues such as arthritis or carpal tunnel.  Holding that button in is quite cumbersome.

I bought the Dyson about one month ago. I like most of the features of the unit, especially the hand unit for doing steps and stairs. One feature I'm very disappointed with is the battery. When you run the unit on Max, it lasts less than 10 minutes. I expected more for what I paid.

I was so excited to open this on Christmas! My kids got together and bought me this beautiful vacuum! I have about 50% hard wood or tiles, 25% wall to wall, and 25% area rugs. This vacuum does great with floors and tile. It does okay with wall to wall carpeting although it has to be on max setting during this time. Area rugs, it literally shuts down. I have a very heavy duty, tight pilled (not shag) 12x15 area rug that is held down by the furniture but when I try to vacuum, it stops the rotating brush from movement. The smaller area rugs that are considered washable, (despite being 10x12 feet) are just too thin and they bog it completely down. Just the same, for quick DRY spills in the kitchen or bare floors, this is excellent! It gets hair and dust that is against the wall and the attachments are EXCELLENT additions!! I love being able to get into some of those places that my regular vacuum cannot get into!! Also, the weight of this product is perfect! I'm a little older and to use a heavy product can sometimes be too much but this is so light and easy to handle!

I am so disappointed in the run time, maybe 20 minutes. The power needs a switch to keep it on. It hurts my finger holding it on. I am thinking about returning it!

Poor run time

I have a Dyson V 10 and was due for a new one. I purchased this Dyson V8. I knew there were distinct differences. But I definitely did not think that the power/suction would be that different. Works great on bar floors. Bath mats and low pile area rugs not at all. It does not have enough power to do them. Brushhead kept stopping. I clean houses for a living and my Dyson V 10 is my go to. Returning this and getting the Dyson sized from Sam's.

Battery charge is terrible, can't even finish two rooms, kinda heavy for hand held that is what I wanted, but too heavy for me

Needs a stronger battery

I was never so disappointed in all my life. I couldn't even finish two rooms of vacuuming before the battery died so sad that you pay this kind of money and you can't even complete a vacuum job in 1000 square-foot home.

My battery will not charge fully. I cannot use it more than 10 minutes without recharging. I'm using it on hardwood floor on low power. Have called and messaged and no one wants to help
