We were a bit intimidated over the extensive parts and instructions but the steps were well organized and the resulting greenhouse was everything I hoped for in a compact backyard greenhouse. The neighbors have commented on how pretty it was and the quality materials. I appreciated the well thought out design that included fan  and digital features for a very reasonable price.

I bought this Greenhouse in 2024 to house exotic plants and all of my pet reptiles. I have carnivorous plants, banana trees, and lots more plants. All of my plants and reptiles are all healthy and doing fantastic. Definitely recommend getting this Greenhouse.

BEST GREENHOUSE EVER

Now my wife has her space for her plants and I have my shop back! This was a pleasure to build, and it looks better than I thought it would. I am a woodworker and there is no way I could have made this for the price we paid. If you want a quality greenhouse, then look no further. The instruction manual is very complete, and easy to follow. My wife absolutely Loves this greenhouse.

Best decision I made all year for our back yard !

This greenhouse was well engineered the instructions were easy to follow all parts were marked with part numbers on each peace ,every screw lined up perfectly with the pre drilled holes ,all the hardware was packaged in marked bags with the part number loved this project.

Packing of the greenhouse was extremely well done

I bought this greenhouse for my wife in December 2023, Delivered in perfect condition in February 2024. We poured a concrete slab to build it on in April. 

What a great experience with Backyard Discovery. The greenhouse kit was in 8 different boxes with literally hundreds of wood pieces and hundreds of pieces of hardware. EVERY single item was clearly marked and easy to identify. They also included extra pieces of each type of hardware needed as well as any specialty screw bits or tools needed. In a world of companies doing the very minimum possible, it was quite refreshing to see a company go above and beyond to make sure that your project would go up without a hitch. Where most companies seem to careless after they get your money, Backyard Discovery actually cares about the quality of their product, AND the quality of the consumers experience in using their product. (serious golf clap for Backyard Discovery and their team).

My wife and I took our time assembling the greenhouse, took about 2 and half days for us to complete the structure. We then covered all wood products with Penofin Clear Red Label Penetrating Brazilian Rosewood Oil (great stuff). Wife was going to be using it exclusively for hydroponic growing, so I installed many additional outlets on a GFCI. We also installed a stainless sink and reel hose. The sink didn't have a drain available in ground, so we drain into a 5 gallon bucket, that has a water pump inside with a float switch. So when she uses the sink the pump comes on and pumps the sink drain water out through a hose and into the yard. 

Since these photos were taken we have added a few extras. We were having a serious problem with heat, everything she was growing was bolting cause the Temp in June in So Cal was so hot that the temperature inside the greenhouse during the day would reach 125 degrees. All the vegetables she was growing were bolting. We first tried additional fans, didn't work. Then we tried an evaporative cooler, didn't work. We finally ended up with a combination of shade and AC. We installed a 10000 BTU wall AC unit which we keep set at 85 degrees. We installed shade panels in each of the ceiling bays on  the inside of the greenhouse, and we installed a shade cloth that is mounted outside and shades our entire south facing wall. That combination seems to be solving our heating issues. Then for creature comforts we installed a porch light, interior work lights, padded flooring, and I know kind of cringe but we have a wall mounted TV for her to watch her shows while she gardens in her she shed. 

All in all, she's happy, I'm happy that she's happy. She has a real nice place to do what she loves, and I get a few fresh veges out of the whole deal.

Quality, Design, Attention to detail. 5 - Star!!!

The Zelle Greenhouse from Backyard Discovery has been an absolute joy to build and own! My partner and I were able to construct this beautiful greenhouse over a few weekends, and the process was surprisingly smooth.

What We Loved:

Excellent Instructions: The instructions were clear, precise, and easy to follow, making the assembly process a breeze. Every step was logically laid out, and we rarely had to second-guess ourselves.
Perfect Fit: We were incredibly impressed with the precision of the pre-drilled holes. Every screw lined up perfectly, which significantly sped up the construction process.
Manageable for Two: The greenhouse was definitely a two-person job, but it was completely manageable for us. We had a lot of fun working together, and the project was a great bonding experience.
Beautiful Design: The finished product is absolutely stunning! The Zelle Greenhouse is a beautiful addition to our backyard, and we love spending time in it.
A Minor Quibble:

The only hiccup we encountered was during the roof assembly. The design requires applying a bead of silicone caulking along the length of the roof panels to seal them. This involved reaching down the entire length of the roof, which felt a bit precarious at times.  Additionally, the silicone was provided in tubes that were difficult to apply evenly, especially in such an awkward position. We would have preferred a different design solution for this step, perhaps with pre-installed sealant or a more user-friendly application method.

Overall Impression:

Despite the minor challenge with the roof sealant, we are absolutely thrilled with our Zelle Greenhouse. It's a high-quality, beautiful structure that was a pleasure to build. We highly recommend it to anyone looking to add a touch of green to their backyard!

A Delightful DIY Greenhouse Experience

A nice greenhouse.  Two main issues: it needs to have an additional large air intake so the door doesn't need to remain open in the summer.  I solved this by removing one cedar panel and adding both hardwire cloth and a screen to the opening.  In the winter, the cedar panel still fits in the intended spot.  I also added hardwire cloth and a screen to the supplied window-keeps critters out when it is open.

A fault in the design for the roof is that the supplied splice connectors are about a inch too short.  That leaves a gap where water can leak inside the greenhouse.  The manufacturer added an addendum to the instructions and supplies flashing tape and caulk, but it doesn't 100% solve the problem.  Any water infiltration spells doom for the cedar upper wooden boards.  What really is needed is to extend the upper roof panels about a 1/2 inch over the edge and make the splice connector longer.  Also, add an aluminum drip edge under the polycarbonate panels in addition to the metal edge trim. This also means redesigning the rear metal edge to accept the panel overhang.  It is not too difficult to do that from a manufacturing standpoint.

Overall, well-built except for a couple issues

Pleasantly surprised with how well the greenhouse went together but there are a couple things that could be improved. The silicone tubes for the roof were wasteful and did not apply easily. The metal strips that go on roof would work better if the went under front metal trim and over back metal trim. Would make it much better fit and better to seal with silicone.

For the most part an easy build

I've wanted a greenhouse for many years as we live in a tiny town in the mountains and fresh produce is hard to come by.  I was truly amazed at the wonderful veggies we grew this past summer. And - the greenhouse is so attractive and well built.

All in all it is nice but the Roof is poorly designed.  The Flashing goes over the splices and creates this over 1/4" gap that water just runs under.  There needs to be an overhang or something because in winter the water running down will just freeze.  First rain and I regret purchasing.
