I like to bake these in the oven.  I put olive oil, parmesan cheese, and garlic powder on them.  They make a great healthy alternative to French fries.

Asparagus

These Asparagus are always fresh and firm.  I've kept them in the fridge for two weeks once and it didn't go bad.  Pairs well with Salmon and other fish for lunch or dinner.

Always Fresh and Firm

While I love asparagus, I really shouldn't buy it in a huge bag. It seems when you open the bag, whatever you don't use the first day, starts to get slimy. I've tried many ways to store it so it won't get icky, but haven't found any good way other than freezing it, and then, well, it's not fresh anymore. However, if you have a big family and can cook the whole bag, great! Or, if you are making soup, it's great.

Goes Bad to Fast

This product is hit or miss.  Sometimes the stalks are too thick so I avoid them.  A lot of waste since you have to cut off a lot of the stalks.

Hit or Miss

I don't buy as much asparagus as I use to buy from Sams. I believe (in the cold winter months) that your walk in refrigerator  gets too cold for them at night with the big door is shut for the night. Asparagus doesn't like to be frozen and thawed....just a guess.

Winter's temperature

I love asparagus but haven't been happy with these lately.  2 days after buying open bag and threw more than half the bag away.  Date should be on them like they use too.

No date on asparagus bags

Normally,the vegetables are very hardy and last long enough for my family to finish. This asparagus was wrinkled and soft three days after purchase date. 
Terrible to waste it all.

Fresh vegetables

I failed to notice the expiration date had passed. I only had in the vegetable bin of my refrigerator for a few days. When I opened to cook the tips were already ruined.

Expired before purchasing

I have never used the pick up service before the last visit to Sam's.  Unfortunately the asparagus that was put with the other items I  ordered that visit was very poor quality in the first place and had begun to spoil.  The product I received should have been discarded long before I got it.  This was very uncharacteristic of Sam's produce.

Not what I hoped for

I bought the asparagus on Thursday, July 24th for dinner on Sunday, July 27th. When I took them out of the bag, they were dehydrated and dry.
