[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this Dryer after a lot of research on matching washers and dryers.  We downloaded the user's manual from the WEB site which helped us both appreciate and utilize the features of the product. Although highly satisfied, the dry sensor indicates clothes are dry. On some occasions it needs additional minutes to get completely dry. WIFI seems unnecessary and we're not sure we'll use it much. Overall, we are very satisfied with the purchase.

We've had this dryer about 3 months.  It's done a great job so far with no problems.  It's very quiet and it's nice to get notifications when it's done so the clothes don't sit in the dryer for too long and get wrinkles.  When this does happen it's easy to refresh using the steam option.  It has a large capacity.  We've been able to put several blankets and comforters inside w/o a problem.

LG Dryer

It was time to update my LG washer and dryer after over 15 years of faithful service.  They both worked fine but I was anxious to replace them before I had a problem.

With regard to the model DLGX4001B dryer, it's amazing what technology advances have taken place in 15 years!

The washer/dryer is WiFi enabled so that I can check the cycle progress on my phone and receive Alexa alerts once the cycle is finished.  The dryer is paired to the washer so for example when the wash cycle for Towels is complete, the dryer automatically pre-selects the dry cycle for Towels.

There are more cycles and each is much more unique with this model compared to my 15 year old machine.  This model also features steam functions.

It runs whisper quiet, smooth, and is solid as a rock. 

The unit looks great in black steel but a minor complaint is that the LED panel is a bit hard to see so I need reading glasses and a flashlight if I want to choose any of the many available dry options.

I just wish there was a way to change the default settings. I like my clothes on the dryer side and it's a pain to switch everything to “more dry” every time

Love the app

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was installed in our apartment a few months ago and it works well.  My only note to improve the next version would be to make the light corresponding to the cycle a bit clearer as to which one it is pointing to.  Perhaps the cycle name itself should light up to make it easier to figure out.  I always have to start from the first cycle and work my way around to be sure it's on the right one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice dryer with lots of features. My only issue is the wifi setup. The dryer does not support 5Ghz networks - only 2.4ghz. If you have a multiband router, you can make it work but it's tricky and requires another device.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this for about 3 weeks.  It took a great deal of effort to get the dryer app installed.  It was quite frustrating.  There is a light in the dryer but it seems somewhat sporadic. It seems to dry pretty well but some of the heavier towels weren't quite dry.

Dryer App is Frustrating to Install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this based on consumer reports and dealer/repair reports.  First one would not fire up gas.  Check lines for gas, ran checks and got NO GAS code. Dealer was going to repair under warranty but I told them I paid for a new dryer not a refurbished one.  Took some talking to get them to replace the unit with a new one but all is good.  Still a pain to get connected to ThinQ but once it connects it is great.. Like to be told when cycle is done.  So far no problems, and time will tell. Took off one star because had to go thru two units to get one that worked.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got a lemon, or a piece of junk. This dryer has been nothing but a source of aggravation ever since I purchased it.  We keep on getting this flashing “gas” error.  The dryer stops 25 to 30 minutes into its cycle with gas error flashing. It does not generate any heat, everything is still wet.  We had a plumber check the gas line, everything is fine—our gas stove and gas water heater have no issues.  An LG tech replaced the dryer's gas valve—same issue.  My mom suffers from dementia, laundry is a necessity in our house.  To get this repaired, I have to pay a plumber to disconnect the gas line from the dryer, pay someone to bring it down from its platform, once the maintenance is done, pay for the reverse process.  At this point, as soon as I have the money, I'll get a new dryer , and hope to have better luck.  My last dryer lasted over 15 years before the motor gave out.  Buyer beware!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dryer was installed two weeks ago. Installation was straightforward.  So far, I've only done two loads and everything worked as expected.  I found the manual often difficult to interpret, and especially so for setting up the ThinQ wifi.  For example, it if not clear whether the word device is referring to the dryer or the smartphone.  Also, a lot of trial and error is involved in learning to use the controls. I hope this will improve over time. Note. I am a native english speaker with a PhD in physics.
So far, I don't have enough experience wit this machine to recommend it to someone else.  Ask me again after six months or a year.
