I have had these tires on for 500 miles and they are so much quieter than stock tires which the stock tires were loud on the highway,and the tread looks to be a great winter tire

Great tires

Got a set on my Outback before driving from CA to Montana - glad I did. Ran thru a nasty thunderstorm in southern Idaho, a little bit of snow going over the continental divide & did quite a bit of off-roading around Helena - dirt, gravel, and mud. Not only do these tires perform perfectly for just normal highway driving, they handled all the rain, snow, mud, and gravel no problem. Zero hydroplane and very little slip when off-road. Not much road noise, smooth comfortable ride and handling. I tried similar tires from Pirelli and Bridgestone - these were better. I will absolutely get them again.

Best cross-over/hybrid tire out there

I've had my 1996 4x4 Dodge P/U for many years first installing Pirelli Scorpions (will never buy again) then General Grabbers which were better and now installing these BFG Advantage T/A tires. I have never been so impressed by a new set of tires like I have from these BFGs. My truck rides so rough I can't drive with McDonald's cup of coffee with a lid on it. After installing the BFG Adv. T/As they dramatically smoothed out my truck's ride on the pot hole ridden Michigan roads and I was immediately impressed. They also stick to the road like glue and cornering is great. I was very concerned when I put my tires through their 1st test. My front axle drive was broken and I needed to get the truck out of my back garage through a fresh snow with only one wheel rear drive to the shop for repair. The truck walked right through the snow off-road without spinning a bit. Then I drove the truck on many miles on snow covered icy roads to the shop for front axle repairs. The truck made it there with only one wheel drive so sure footed on those bad roads I was totally impressed. These tires stick to icy/snowy roads as good as my Bridgestone Blizzak Winter Tires on my AWD car. These have to be the absolute best truck/SUV tires ever for Michigan Winters and to improve the ride over our pot hole ridden Michigan roads. I'm totally impressed and only wish spread the word  on a really good deal that these are the best true all season tires on the market.

2018 CX5 AWD owner - FL driver, and weather.

These tires made my short list because they are 3 peak snow flake rated and have pretty good ratings.  This mattered to me because I'm approaching a time when we'll be road-tripping to colder states and will inevitably encounter the wintry stuff.

Best word to describe these:  compromise.  

They don't seem particularly excellent at anything, just a great jack of all trades which has an upper hand in wintry conditions vs A/S tires.  These will do 95% as good a job tires like the Premier LTX or similar – yet are far superior in winter, less $$, and from reviews it seems they actually go the distance with their rated mileage.  I've always had Michelins in my vehicles and they always wear out at about half their warranty rating.  

I hope the following will give you a feeling of what these feel like in my GT:

Handling: less of a knife, more like a spatula. With that said, they aren't fully broken in yet.

Wet traction:  So far so good except one red light I spun tires a little, but it might just be the release agent because they are new. Drove over deep puddles at speed, yet I couldn't break them lose.. they just bit the road.  

Dry traction: It's an SUV not a race car.  They do just fine.  

Comfort:  they are on the softer side it appears – maybe a little bouncy.  However you can feel every grit on that pavement. It's as if they don't isolate the texture from the driver, instead they transmit it straight to the steering wheel + seats. Not sure if this is a plus or a minus, but in my case, I'm not loving that too much.  Yet don't confuse this with noise.  Feeling is different from hearing.  

NOISE... oh the noise many complain about.  This was the category in the reviews which made me hesitate at getting these, but in the end I guess I took the dive. 

I will divide this part into subjective as well as objective:
Subjectively (personally) I do feel they are a little louder, but not much - maybe 1 or 2 decibels. The added road feel I think plays a trick with your brain to make you think they are louder than they are (combining the actual noise with the gritty feel on some concrete roads).

Objectively (with a decibel app on my Samsung Note 10) – shocking enough - they aren't louder.  I tested on my car, on a stretch of road at 50 and 60 mph.  accessories off, windows closed, stereo off.  50mph = 70 decibels. 60mph = 72-74 db.  70mph: 74-76 db.
Here's the interesting thing:  I immediately went and test drove a BRAND NEW 2021 CX5 GT with stock Toyo A36s which are the original tires for this car– and I got the EXACT same #s / db ranges.  .  New OEM tires seem to be just as loud (or quiet however you want to interpret) as these. IF there is a difference, I'd argue it's subjective and does not exceed 1-2db. However the stock tires do seem to isolate the road feel better, which might explain why they might come across as quieter.

One thing these tires DO have is a little humming noise. It's there, it's present, yet not intrusive. If you roll down your windows, you can hear it outside bouncing off the curbs and walls and such.  This car does a decent job at hiding it with the windows up but it's still there.

Overall, for the promise of added traction in winter conditions, I think it's a solid tire.  I don't think anything else out there really combines these features with the promised mileage these have.  Oh and looks wise... smoking!

BFG US

While it stopped snowing after I bought these, I'm not sure how good they are in the snow.  While I have no major issues with the tire, they continuously slip in the rain on one specific road by my house.  It occurs in a turn where the road is slanted/angled going downhill.  Not a Streep turn, but not flat either.  So, I lack confidence turning in the rain with any grade downhill.

How about only 1/2 a star, for they are only a good tire in the summer. Snow rated tires are bought for a reason and these tires fail to perform! I bought my set December 2023 13k miles ago. They seemed good at first but have since already lost the initial grip provided. The lateral drift on semi slick areas is crazy. I swear they applied soft rubber over some economical crap and now I get little traction when it's wet and zero traction if anything worse. I bet I'm not the only one who feels there should be a class action against these guys. This is coming from a 53 year old who has plenty of experience and knows how to drive in the PNW.

NOT good on wet roads after 10K miles

My first time purchase for Goodrich tires were 4 Advantage T/A tires on 8/24/21.  On 12/11/22, (6,750 wear miles) I found my tire to be flat in my driveway so I put in air and went to the local dealer for repair.  After two days of trying, they found a split in the tire tread where it met the sidewall.  The local tire dealer contacted Goodrich and indicated the warranty was prorated at 50% causing me to pay for a new tire at 50% off the 2022 new price.  Only 6.750 miles on a 15 month old tire. 

As far as I am concerned this should have been a 100% warranty as the tire failed due to manufacturer's defect.  The six warranty is meaningless.  Buyer be ware!

Manufacture material defect

We bought these tires 11/30/20. We noticed a noise last winter (2022) coming from the tires. I contacted the place we purchased them from. They will do nothing for us. These tires only have 26,165 miles on them. They have been rotated regularly. I would definitely not purchase these tires.
