Description

The US Sunlight, 9010TR, Black, 10-Watt Solar Attic Fan is a smart alternative to conventional roof vents. It operates during the day and collects power from the sun to convert into electricity. In turn, this energy operates a high-efficiency motor inside the power vent, so there's no added cost for electricity. That saves energy, which is better for the environment. Cool your home in the summer and remove harmful moisture in the winter. The solar-powered ventilator is black and round with a square solar panel that's mounted directly to the dome. No electrical hook-up is needed for this product. It's low-profile and rust resistant with a galvanized steel dome and base. This product is used only on shingled roofs.

What are the Benefits of this Solar Attic Fan?

Installing a Solar Powered Attic Fan will allow for better air flow and moisture control inside your attic and prevent the condensation which can lead to mold and mildew problems. In the winter months, the building materials in your attic can absorb up to 28 gallons of moisture, contributing to mold and mildew growth. Moisture migrates into the attic space from daily activities such as running the dishwasher, showers and cooking. Additionally, warm attic air meeting the cold roofing materials creates condensation, which drips onto the attic insulation causing it to lose its effectiveness. Warm attics in winter also contribute to ice damming as the snow melts on the roof and re-freezes at the eaves, causing water to accumulate.

Special Design/Features

The fan ventilates up to 1,200 square feet and has 840 CFM's. The solar panel tilts and rotates for maximum sun exposure and energy collection.

What is Required

You will need to have someone cut a 14-inch in diameter hole on top of the roof. No electricity is required.

Materials, Construction

The solar-powered attic ventilator is made of galvanized steel.
