Veuve Clicquot is a French Champagne House based in Reims, founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot. In 1805, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin took over the family business after being widowed at the young age of 27. She is credited with transforming Veuve Clicquot into one of the greatest Champagne Houses in the world, thereby becoming one of the first modern-day business women. Veuve Clicquot stays true to its heritage through Madame Clicquot’s motto: "One quality, the finest." Madame Clicquot was widely recognized by her peers for her formidable contributions and ultimately became known as "La Grande Dame de la Champagne." Over her lifetime, she invented three of the most important innovations in champagne that are still practiced today. Excellent Purchase

This wine is the best for under $50 -- thereabouts -- I find this champagne taste light and crisp. As it comes from France and is from a very deep winery -- it upholds the absolute and refreshing taste and makes me say oooo la la! Good any time -- worth the price!

Exquisite and Delightful

Buy this as a gift. Really like it when it has the canvas cover, or at least a box. With just the bottle, well... there are other choices.

Are there better champagnes than Veuve? Yes. Are there better values in champagne and sparkling? Also yes. But for <$60 can you wax fancy as well as you can with a bottle of Veuve? Well, yeah you probably can. It’s a solid bottle of slightly overpriced sparkling but Madame Cliquot is outdone by many of her peers in my opinion. Still, it feels nice to pop yellow label NV champs anytime.
