I bought 2 of these for our grandsons. They had one each while in Florida.  When they had a military move to Hawaii, their mom said these have to go to HI because they play with them all the time.  When they go to the beach it means the dump trucks go too.  I saw these in our N.C. Sam’s and told my daughter.   She got very excited because their original trucks finally wore out and they no longer had.  I did not know this.  I was able to order online and list her as she was able to pick up.  The boys were elated and have used them often.  They may not last as long as they could given the HI climate, but if they’re happy so am I.  They have taken to the beach and recently on a hiking trail.

Really like the truck it’s a nice size. My son can fit in the bed of the truck and get pushed around by his sisters it’s a really cute, fun truck for kids. It doesn’t come in the little box shown on the picture which I would have love it to come in the box but still a cute truck. They shouldn’t advertise this being in this box if it’s not going to come like that. Overall recommend!

Nice truck

We bought the Tonka Mighty Dump Truck for my grandson's 2nd birthday.  He absolutely loved it!  The boy is into trucks and cars and this is a BIG truck!  This dump truck is much larger than the all steel one, and it also has some plastic on it but it still seems pretty sturdy.  It was also much cheaper too.  This is his outdoor truck which he plays with everyday.  He loves pushing it back and forth on their deck.  I know he'll get many years of enjoyment with this truck.  Can't go wrong with Tonka.

We bought this for our son after seeing it at our daughter's preschool! Both our kids love it. It's very sturdy and they love taking turns sitting in it and pushing each other around as well as just pushing it. My kids are 2 and 5. Definitely a great toy!

Fun!

This is a truck which my grandson has been asking for as a birthday present. He is turning 4.  I received it today and am very pleased with my purchase. This truck looks very well made and sturdy. It's nice and big. I think he can even give his twin sister a ride in the back!  It's his truck but am sure they will both love it. I am hiding it until his birthday!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only gave a four star because it's a birthday gift for my nephew. The rest of time will tell. Overall it's great, very big robust and heavy duty. Reminds me of what I had as a kid. I would definitely recommend it and I caught it on sale for $20.

It's Worth it

We've been buying these new Tonka toys and they are good quality. I'm giving four stars only because Tonka touts these rigs as 'steel classics' and that they are like the Tonka toys I played with as a child over 5 decades ago. This is just not true. The new Tonka toys are mostly plastic with a little metal here and there. My suggestion is to shop sales on these Tonka rigs because the prices can be absolutely outrageous.

Four stars for Tonka - here's why

I was lucky enough to catch a screaming deal on this Tonka truck... $10 on clearance.! The thing is massive, roughly 18" long, 11" wide and 14" tall (from memory) My only complaint is that all though it is a "steel truck" the frame is plastic and it wouldn't take much to snap the steel bits off form the plastic. That being said, I'm very sure we'll still get a few years out of this.... just not the typical Tonka lifetime. I really can't complain for the price I paid.

I was disappointed. Let me be clear in saying my daughter absolutely loves this truck. My sister and I both had Tonka Trucks as kids, we took them everywhere with us, they were our favorite. It was always in my plans to get my own daughter one. This one claimed to be steel. To be fair, the dumpbed is, but that's is. All the rest of the truck is plastic and I felt disappointed and misled on that. Another complaint, the front part of the dumpbed, where the handle sits on the top of the truck, is warped, and sticks up a little higher on one side because of that. Normally, I would go to the store and exchange the item. In today's world, with the virus going on, it's just easier to keep it. I'm not satisfied, my daughter is happy though, that's the main thing. Only time will tell if it has true Tonka toughness.

The body is not steel!

Poor advertisement, and not a quality product.
The advertisement was totally misleading as a Tonka Steel Classic. When received, it was not an original Tonka with markings and was cheap plastic. The toy was also shipped in a plastic bag and was broken when received.

THIS. I should have read the reviews but I knew Tonka steel would be great. NOPE!  This toy should be 7.99 at MOST.
