I couldn’t get hard-wired timers to work on a circuit for some garage coach lights and a porch light, so I purchased 2 of these Switchmate wireless timers.  I installed these in less than 10 minutes and they work perfectly. They are so easy to use and cost less than the hard-wired timers I have on other switches. I like these so much I purchased 4 more to use on other lights in the house for use when I’m on vacation.  Extremely easy to install and very easy to program. I only use the program timer and haven’t tried the automatic feature.

Works Perfectly, Easy to Use!

I’m thrilled with this product and how it performs. Very easy to install. If you can read you can install it.

Does what it is supposed to do... However, remember, it is a Bluetooth devise.  So, your phone or Bluetooth Hub must be near this devise for it to operate. In other words, it is NOT WiFi supported. It does make a switch sound when it turns on/off, but not bothersome to me. I have it operating my front porch light as this was a lot cheaper than buying a new eye for it. I like how it turns itself on upon my arrival home and stays on for my desired setting.  However, it only does this one time per day.  Good product, I just wanted to ensure you understand what you are buying before you buy it.

Does what it is supposed to do...

Easy to setup

I put this on the switch to my garage exterior lights so they can light up at night, especially when I am not home. No one can tell if I'm home or not!  It is a bit noisy when it turns on and off.  The only problem I am having is getting a second switch to come on at the other side of the house on my porch. Don't know if there is interference or a problem with my programming.

Great gadget!

I had an urge to light up my front porch and driveway in front of the garage at night to help the neighborhood safe. However, after numerous times forgetting to turn off the lights in the morning, I quit doing it and kind of felt guilty. This product give me the chance to do it and I like it very much. The only thing is it's not really reliable : When I set a turn on time and turn off time to do the routine automatically everyday, the 2 switches failed twice ( not in the same time) each, and when I checked, it seemed that the settings were lost (possibly a firmware issue). I hope this product can be improved and I can trust it more. Anyway, it makes less mistakes than I do, and that's good enough for the porch light / garage light application.

Nice features but need to be reliable

The unit only has a distance of about 15ft, not 50ft. It does not work well thru doors or walls. In using during the last week, it only turned on once upon entering my home. Still it does work and has saved me several banged toes.  Would only recommend for a rental environment where you can not hardwire a different device.

If the Switchmate performed as described, then I would have kept it.  I purchased this system for auto on and off of my light when I am away.  It did not function.  I returned the unit.  The remote function worked within blue-tooth proximity...but why bother?

Remote light switch...not too magical

I purchased this product not realizing it was bluetooth only.  Therefore, you have to be pretty close in order to properly operate it. When my Bluetooth is on my battery  drains  more quickly.

Bluetooth which means your phone must be close

Doesn't work. Can't turn lights on while away from home. Switch program indicates you need to be at home on same Wi-Fi as switch. Defeats the purpose.
