This green leafy salad goes great with grilled shrimp, grilled salmon or grilled chicken or you could just eat it by itself with some ranch dressing.

Spring mix salad

This Spring Mix is kinda unusual. Not too familiar with some of the leaves but the greenery, crispiness & crunch of some of the leaves in the mix makes it easy to add & incorporate to other veggies, making it an interesting salad. Would prefer if it had a tighter lid to maintain the freshness after opening.

Salad was very crisp and refreshing. It contains like stems of young lettuces along with other Leafy vegetables.

Crisp and Delicious

We have stated preferring this Spring Mix over regular iceberg lettuce. It’s not as crispy as iceberg, but it tastes so fresh and wholesome. And it’s ready to use-washed and bite-sized. Occasionally we’ll go back to iceberg, but this is the standard now.

Live this greens

This Spring Mix is so much better than the one Sam’s used to carry in the stores!  This one last a lot longer and taste great!  Love the curly type lettuce.  Excellent choice.

Give it a toss & try to mix it up a bit, open the top and put a paper towel on top of the leaves; then turn upside down and store in the fridge. This lettuces lasts a week stored this way with no wilting.

Storage Trick

Crunchier than most spring mixes, which is a pleasant surprise. It really is ready to eat out of the container. When selecting one, check the bottom to look for any leaves that are turning brown/gummy. I knocked one star because sometimes they are very close to the experation date and starting to wilt on the bottom.

Much better than others

Good quality greens but I found that if you add some iceberg lettuce and shredded carrots to it you'll get a better salad and stretch the value a lot further.

Good Value

A definite downgrade from the previous Spring Mix (I think it was from Taylor Farms) that I had been buying at Sam's for several years.  I use a lot of this stuff at my house in an effort to get our family to eat mixed greens.  I usually buy at least 1 big plastic clam shell of it each week.  This new brand (Local Bounti) has lots of long tubular stems.  They remind me of Dandelion stems after the flower has turned to a white puff ball of seeds.  And the greens just seem limp and super moist like they are full of extra moisture (and that's not a good thing in this context)  I'm giving them 2 stars as I like they are grown in TX as I live in TX.  And  I like the concept that they are extra clean due to being grown in a green house thus not having the chance to be infected with E coli  from animal waste.   However if that is the reason they are all full of tubular long stems and mushy than I think I would rather take my chances with greens grown outside.  Please source a different provider for your Spring Mix.
