I bought this 2 weeks ago and it working great

Bought to control lighting while on vacation.  Easy set up. Customer service from manufacturing lacking

ISmart plug

I bought one of these a out a year ago that has worked well as part of my wink setup.
so for the holidays, I bought a 2nd one to use for our Christmas tree.
I went to set it up, and the device says it was added, bit showed up in the I home app with a red bang. after 3 attempts with the same result, I called support.
they said I needed to update the firmware, and that I needed an iOS device to do that (I was using a pixel 3 XL).
so after borrowing an iPhone specifically to set up

Took many attempts to get thru the initial setup process. Kept getting "unsuccessful connection" to network. Finally got them both satisfied. Worked fine for about 3 weeks, when they both disappeared from app one night, and then reappeared a few days later, but no longer connected. Started to go thru the process again, and after 3 failed attempts, they found themselves in the trash can. I have another brand that is nearly trouble free. I will buy more of those.

Try something else...

They frequently disconnect and must be factory reset to get them to reconnect. I have numerous smarthome devices and these are the only ones that cause problems. Do yourself a favor and pass on these.

Unreliable

It took several attempts to get them working correctly. The setup was not initiative. These worked okay at first, and we were able to able to connect them with Alexa. After a couple of months, Alexa would not recognize them, and we would have to run setup again. Finally we just gave up on linking them. We next used them with the iHome app. Now the company has updated the app, and the devices are gone. Too much trouble to setup again.

Save your money

Ihome keeps having problems with there server that controls these over the internet. At first they we apologetic and said they would have it back in service soon. Now they don’t return emails. I’m going to return these to sams.

Poor product

I have three of this devices connected to a Wink gateway.  But now, they removed the App from the google play, and notified they no longer support, Smartthings, IFTTT, Wink, and google assistant, because they used the iHome cloud and it no longer exists.
