We eat rice every, single, day. When I don't have enough, or just dont feel like washing & waiting an hour - this is my go to. 1 minute cook time & it looks, feels, & tastes like rice right out of the rice cooker! The bowls are plastic and its exactly one cup of rice. I believe it iss Calrose rice but if not, its a short grain very similar. Also, the package says its made in Japan.
