This Scotch "heavy duty'" tape is  of good strength and adheres well. 
It is sturdy(doesn't peel on the roll). 
If tape is dropped off by accident, it is easy to retrieve.
The tape does not smell like the flimsy, cheaper tape does.

I've moved A LOT cross country in all types of weather and Scotch brand tape is the only tape we will use! We tried using other brands that were cheaper, but they failed due to humidity, length of time, etc. during the moves. Even though it is a little more expensive, the value is actually significantly  better than other heavy duty tapes if you're using the tape for moving or storage.

Strongest Tape from a Highly Experienced Mover!

Just buy it.
Other tapes listed as heavy duty aren't as thick as this.
A heavy tape keeps the tape from falling out of the dispenser rollers.
This is very annoying and frustrating when the tape goes back on the roll and you have to pick the edge free.
I used to think there was a problem with my tape dispenser but it was the lighter weight tape.
Yes, this tape might be more expensive but the ease of use makes it worthwhile.

Bought for store use in my store.  We have just been getting the dollar store brand.  this is sooo much better.

Works great

Lots of tape that sticks tight.  I do use fiberglass reinforced tape in addition to this tap when I send heavy packages, but the tape along is great for lighter weight packages of all sized.  The tape works well in my handheld tape dispenser.

I use this tape on just about everything - Jar labels, storage boxes, small repairs, etc. It's very sticky (should be, right?) and just stiff enough to make sticking it on straight easy.

Good Quality Multipurpose Tape

It's more expensive buying the packing tape in small rolls on a dispenser, but to me the easy to handle roll is worth it. The only complaint is sometimes when sitting the tape gets dislodged  and sticks back on the roll

You pay for the convenience of easy to handle tape

I am unsure if it’s the product or the combination of the product and the cardboard boxes from Walmart.  I am moving and this tape has a hard time sticking to the boxes. I pack a box and the next day it’s lifting off of the boxes. It’s very strange. The combo isn’t good. Otherwise I think the tape works fine but it is packing tape…

Boxes and tape don’t like each other

I was not expecting such bad quality from a time tested name brand but here it is. The tape on a tape gun spins so easily that when I tried to cut it I ended up pulling several unnecessary inches of tape. When pulling the tape on the tape gun around a box it slips so easily there is no real control and tape loss is inevitable as well as misplaced and sloppy tape line on the boxes. The adhesion level is LOW. I was compelled to use another brand of tape I had to tape over folded Scotch Tape corners BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T STICK AND KEPT STANDING UP. I HATE this tape!
