Absolutely love this vacuum. Works great and does my floor great - I have carpet, vinyl, and tile flooring that it cleans and vacuums with ease. I have a thick cable cord across my carpet as well as a small lip between my tile and vinyl flooring that it runs over with no issues. The mop feature works well too, only get slight drag marks due to the cat litter sometimes but usually it’ll make a second go around and take care of that. Love the app as well!

I’ve had the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra for about a month now, and honestly, it’s been awesome. It handles hardwood, laminate, and carpet like a champ and picks up cat litter, cardboard bits, and other everyday messes without a problem. My floors have never stayed this clean with so little effort.

There’s one tricky spot in my house where tile steps down into wood, and the vacuum sometimes hesitates there—but it’s never actually gotten stuck or needed me to step in.

The app is super powerful—kind of complex, but in a good way. There are tons of settings you can tweak, and it lets you control just about everything you could think of.

Navigation is solid, and the obstacle avoidance is smart enough that I’ve never had to rescue it. It always makes it back to the dock, and the mapping feature is crazy accurate. Watching it scan your house with its little spinning laser is actually pretty cool.

It’s been very reliable so far. Aside from emptying the water tanks a few times, I haven’t had to do much at all. I also love the camera features—being able to drive it around and check in on things remotely is surprisingly handy (and fun).

The mopping works well—not just a light wipe, but some actual scrubbing. And it’s got different noise levels depending on the mode. It can get a bit loud on max suction, but the quiet mode is, well, quiet.

Bottom line: If you’re looking for a top-tier robot vacuum, this is it. It’s not perfect, but it’s close—and it’s definitely made my life a lot easier.

I have never had cleaner floors

Super easy to set up.  Does the job well.  We previously had a Roomba.  The S8 MaxV Ultra exceeds expectations and best bang for the buck

A must have for every hom

We love our S8 MaxV Ultra!  It was easy to set up and has been cleaning our many floors and rooms daily ever since it arrived.  We have 5 cats and a dog and this has saved us so much time it's such a delight to be able to schedule cleanings around our own schedules, and to be able to do spot cleaning.

Game changer

The performance of this Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is outstanding. The cleaning power and intelligence is impressive. It’s quiet and fast. Light years ahead of my old robot vac. Being able to monitor, remote control plus voice command the robot vac is impressive. The self cleaning and vacuum bag self emptying makes cleaning chores a lot easier.

This Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is worth it!

The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra will end your frustration in looking for a vacuum / mop that actually does what the company professes it does. We just returned the Narwal Freo X Ultra (for a few reasons), and although the price point is a "little" lower than the Roborock "ya get what you pay for." The Roborock is much more intuitive than the Narwal when negotiating corners and other potential obstacles. It has four settings in both the vacuum and mop modes. It vacuums carpets that have the color black in them (something the Narwal could not do). You can talk to it (Hello Rocky) and it actually responds and does what you command. Set up was easy. The mop tanks hold sufficient water for heavy duty mopping. Yes, it's expensive, but commit, you'll be glad you did!

Roborock S8 Max V Ultra - one and done

My Rocky does a good job.  I have a puppy who brings in mud and treasures all the time.  Rocky cleans right up!  I had some difficulty with setup; I  did not see my issues addressed in the guide book.  However, through phone calls to the experts, I was able to solve my problems, and after three trials, we seem to have bonded into a good relationship.

Life changing for us in our 3600sf two dog home with a mix of hand scraped oak, travertine & tile floors, Rocky is easy to program and operate. It's more like engineering than vacuuming. Pick the areas that show pet fur or are high traffic areas and let rip. We wisely make the floor space to be vacuumed as clear of clutter including moving wooden dining and office chairs. 
We only use the vibrating mop in bathrooms or the sunroom. 
We entertain guests, so manually vacuuming was a serious but necessary chore. Walking barefooted now feels so nice too. 
I was so anxious at first because our two Australian Shepherds always attacked the vacuum wand. Something about the sound. Not so with our robot. 
I was also worried about maintaining a robot vacuum. Four months in service and it's not at all an issue. 
Mapping the floors in the beginning was nearly automated.  Adding furniture icon, simple. Editing thresholds, easy. 
A few times Rocky has gotten stuck or jammed with a sock. Fortunately it shuts itself down in those instances.

Life changing and almost fun

DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE DOGS!  

I've owned this vacuum for 6 months, and will be returning it.  

The dust bin on the unit is way too small, and there is no sensor in the vacuum to indicate when the dustbin is full.  The design of the bag in the dock doesn't allow it to sufficiently empty the dustbin.  I've had to remove impacted dog hair from the dock with tools to clear it.  The vacuum suction is good, but the suction of the dock is not enough to evacuate the hair from the dustbin.

I have an 8 year old Roomba that has a better dustbin/bag design in it than the S8 MaxV Ultra

DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE DOGS!

Roborock is ridiculously expensive for cheap garbage. Unreliable. I owned a Q7 Max  . A Lemon!  It worked fine for 6 months, then it had computer and gear problems. I sent it back to the company to be repaired. Since the initial repair, I have gone through 2 refurbished units having the same electronic issues. The 3rd one just died, and wouldn’t you know it…it’s out of warranty. Planned obsolescence maybe?  Hmm. 

Roborock doesn’t stand by their product. Don’t buy!
