Walleye is the most prized of all Great Lakes Fish. Anglers respect Walleye because it's known as being a fighter when you catch them. Chefs at restaurants desire Walleye because it is the easiest fish to prepare and serve to customers. The clean white meat, flaky texture once cooked and clean eating taste make Walleye a fish you have to try. Purepac's vacuum packed fillets lock in the clean taste and ensure each experience is what you expect of a premium fish. <h3>Recommended Preparation</h3> For best results, remove from vacuum packaging and allow the fillets to thaw in refrigerator for 8-12 hours in a drip-proof container. From frozen, remove protective water glaze under slightly warm tap water for 2 minutes and follow recipe. Once defrosted, we recommend Walleye fillets be used immediately or if kept cold and refrigerated, within 48 hours of defrosting. Also, we recommend that you do not re-freeze the fillets once thawed. Oven: Place fish on a greased baking dish. Cover fillets lightly with oil or butter and season to taste. Cover with sauce or wrap in oiled foil. Pre-heat oven to 450°F (230°C) and cook for approximately 10 minutes per 1/2" (1.3 cm) of thickness. Microwave: Place fillet in microwave container. Cook on high for 3-5 minutes, let stand for 2 minutes. Please note preparation directions are guidelines only, as individual cooking situations may vary.

I bought these for a family dinner at our river home.
They come with the skin on one side which I believe is the law for game fish so you know it is really Walleye!
After I thawed, skinned, and thoroughly dried them I made a bear batter recipe, they were awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only while I I found without additional chemicals added. Very fresh very good.

No chemical preservatives!

Great for a snack or a meal. Easy to prepare. I suggest refrigerater thae. Then cover with extra virgin olive oli/, salt pepper and lemon slices.

The taste was too gamey and the skin was still on.

Beware LOTS of bones! It was super scary trying to avoid them all. There were tons! It tasted good but you literally have to mush it apart to get the bones out. Almost choked on a few. Do they even try to filet it?

Beware - Lots of BONES

Every fillet has bones in it.  Do not buy!  It is like if you were buying the scraps that would normally be thrown away from a normal cleaning.  Horrible!
