I was suspicious of this camera being under $400 as it is listed on Amazon and others as being $440. I was wondered that it was going to be used. But nope, it was brand new. I only needed something that shot video, in 1080p/60fps. This has a high-quality mode that makes the video look even better. The only thing I don't care for is the autofocus and the lens that it comes with but they aren't that bad.

Prefect dslr for under $400

I am 58 years old and have been interested in purchasing a quality camera at a reasonable price. Photography has been a growing passion for me over the years and I wanted to take the step to an SLR. I was worried a little bit that I wouldn't be able to learn the technicalities of the Nikon D3300, but, I was happy to see that learning this camera with it's easy-to-understand user handbook AND guide that is accessable from the camera., I have been using it for about a month now and am extremely happy with the quality feel of the camera and the crystal clear photos and movies it takes, unless you have already stepped up to spending thousands on your camera, you can't go wrong with getting your professional start right here.

Perfect choice for me.

For a refurbished camera it looked like brand new and works like a charm I would buy it again and if your looking for a camera to learn on it just have for pro photos on the cheap this is defiantly the way to go.

Nikon d3300 amazing camera

Right out of the box, it's easy to take pictures in auto mode.  After learning how to fully take advantage of manual mode, it's a lot of fun to use.  It's not had any problems so far.  The battery seems to last a while if you're using the viewfinder and just snapping stills.  Overall great experience!

Great beginner DSLR

Purchased this product for my daughter. Excellent product. Walmart.com had best price offer ($100 less from Amazon, as you have to pay tax on Amazon). Recommend this product.

Nikon D3300

So far I taken excellent pics with it. It sure has a lot of features, and I am a very amateur  photographer. But after watching several videos on  YouTube I am at starting to get a feel for it. I would say this camera is extremely advanced and well made.

The photos are great. The tutorials helpful. There is no manual, even though you can download one, not the same as paper in hand. The camera is WiFi enabled, not ready, you have to purchase a 50.00 adapter. The lenses they send are worthless. But I'll end the way I began, Its a Nikon.

it's a Nikon!!!

It's a great package for the money, all of the extra things it comes with are fun to explore and learn how to enhance your photos. However the quality of everything besides the camera and lens are fairly sub par, off brand items with cheap construction.
Altogether it's a good deal though!

Very nice working camera and fairly simple to use. But the photo quality for an almost $400 camera is below average at best.

My D3300 opinion

Well, maybe I would recommend.  I cannot charge the battery to decide for myself.  I opened my new camera a few days before Christmas to charge the battery be able to use it over the holidays.  Good thing I did!  Yes, it comes with a charger and battery and it is shipped from New York, but the charger is designed for foreign outlets and does not fit U.S. receptacles.  What to do?  There is also no warrant your card and no number to call for tech support, nor was a receipt included in the shipment.  I will figure it out, but it adds a whole new level of complication to what was my most exciting gift.

You need to know!

I purchased this camera a little over a year ago, brand new from my local Walmart store.  This is my first Nikon product ever and I purchased it because I heard that Nikon was a good brand. Initially, I was impressed with the product. Camera was easy to set-up with intuitive controls. The camera  lens is  a good general purpose glass. Pictures are amazing and much better than my previous Canon Powershot non-DSLR camera. I use this Nikon camera daily for eCommerce product photography. However, there are a couple of things that need improvement.  The manual white balance setting process is very touchy and oftentimes I get an error messages when trying to take acquire a white photo to use as a reference for the custom white balance. The other problem is that the rubber grip has already started to peel off, as shown in the photo. I take really good care of my camera and literally baby it.  I would have expected this $500+ Nikon product to hold up better.  My old Canon Powershot actually held up for several years with heavy use, without hardly and wear.  If I had to do it all over again, I probably would not purchase this  particular camera. I would definitely not recommend this camera to people that need to rely on a daily use camera, as this camera is literally falling part on me within a short period of time. I can probably glue the grip back on but its not the kind of quality I would expected from a renowned brand like Nikon.  I'm sticking to Canon as their cameras seem more solid and hold up so much better. Hope this review helps others that may be considering purchasing this camera.
