<h3>Stunning Clematis Vines</h3> <p>Admired for their breathtaking flowers, Clematis vines are often referred to as the "Queen of the Climbers". These plants are easily trained to grow onto trellises and fences, or to arch gracefully over doorways. They create a major focal impact when used alone, making them a stunning addition to any garden. Not only are they visually appealing, but Clematis are also great for attracting pollinators and are perennials, returning year after year to beautify your outdoor space.</p> <h3>Clematis Soil Prep Instructions</h3> <p>The ideal soil for Clematis vines is porous and drains well, yet still retains enough water for the roots. If your soil is heavy clay and drains slowly, or very sandy and does not hold water, adding organic soil amendments such as peat moss or ground bark can improve its quality. A 3-4" layer of soil amendment, combined with fertilizer, should be incorporated into the soil to a depth of 10".</p> <h3>Planting Instructions</h3> <p>When planting your Clematis vine, dig a hole and place the root(s) at the recommended depth and spacing. Cover with soil. If you're planting a large quantity of roots in one bed, it's best to excavate the entire area to the recommended depth, work fertilizer into the bottom of the trench, place the plants, and then cover the roots all at once. Water thoroughly at planting.</p> <h3>Care and Maintenance</h3> <p>While your Clematis vine is actively growing, it's important to water frequently and thoroughly so that the water reaches the roots. Mulching can help keep the soil cool and prevent it from drying out. For optimal growth and flowering, apply fertilizer before and after the flowering period.</p>

Two of the three are growing for me!  It’s very important to get them in the ground as soon as you buy them.  Clematis are very unforgiving if not planted early. I actually waited two weeks and am thankful I got two!

Pitiful that’s all I can say. Very disappointed. I planted it anyway.
