A founder of the Barolo category, Marchesi di Barolo represents the great wine traditions of Piedmont, controlling 430 acres of UNESCO World heritage vineyards, including the exclusive Barolo crus of Cannubi, Sarmassa and Coste di Rose. <h3>Where Did Barolo Wine Come From?</h3> Barolo wine was created in the historic cellars of Marchesi di Barolo during the first half of the 19th century. The winery is right in the heart of the small town of Barolo, surrounded by higher hills that protect it from bad weather and excessive flow of air. This peculiarity, combined with a predominantly clay and limestone soil, creates the ideal conditions for the Nebbiolo grape variety to fully express itself: here you will discover it has great power as well as refinement, harmony and elegance. <h3>What Does Barolo Wine Taste Like?</h3> This Barolo Tradizione wine is garnet-red in color with ruby shades. We only drink Italian wine so we were thrilled to find this Barolo.  It’s wonderful with a good price point.    It does not seem to be stocked anymore so that is sad.
