The set captures perfectly what G1 Soundwave is supposed to be and his casseticons, which I would've never thought that they would make their Brick-Built appearance. The building experience is amazing and the end result even better. LEGO knocked it out of the park with the sound brick. Soundwave is indeed Superior!

A True Marvel

LEGO

Each transformer that Lego puts out pushes the building experience to the next level.   Soundwave and his companions do not disappoint.   The mechanism that opens and closes the cassette area is spectacular.   Transforming these models after the build still requires a bit of patience, especially since they are built out of Lego block.   I love this line of products and I am looking forward to building the next one in the series.

More then meets the eye....

from the cassettes to the the iconic sound brick this set gives it all to lego and decepicons lovers alike. they could not have started the evil character line with a better choice if you ask me. soundwaves has been my personal favorite since i was a child.

Everything the child in me ever wanted

I purchased this as a birthday gift. for my 50-year-old classmate. he put it together in a matter of a week and absolutely loves it. it only took him a week because he wanted to make the experience last longer. All the bags were numbered and assembly was easy. he loved the gift

This set is amazing. The build experience was fun, the play features are amazing, it doesn’t break easily like Bumblebee, and both forms look amazing. Overall the only downside to the set is the price due to things like the sound block, but if you have the money for it I’d say it’s worth the buy.

Absolutely beautiful

Rarely has a build brought me more joy. I was giggling like a little boy when I pushed the "play" button and heard Soundwave's voice and transformation sound. If you are a fan of the original Transformers, I don't understand why do not already own this set. 
Strictly viewed as a Lego set, it is very well done. Easy to build, yet so cleverly designed and it looks gorgeous. The transformation is smooth and easy, but there are one or two panels on the legs that have a tendency to fall off when transforming. Not much of a problem, they are easy to put back in place. It comes with Razorbeak and Ravage which is great (When can we get Frenzy and Rumble?). I put 4/5 for value simply because Lego sets in general are expensive. Compared to other Lego sets, it is quite worth it.
Now, viewed as a Transformer Lego set, it is awesome! I still have my original mid eighties Soundwave toy. It has always been my favorite. This new set is both true to the original toy and the TV series. The head is the one from the cartoon, everything else is almost identical to the original toy, but bigger. Much BIGGER! The transformation is almost identical to the toy. The cassette bay is opened by pressing a button on his shoulder and it is just SO satisfying to open and close. You can fit one of the cassette in the bay. They even put tiny rubber pieces under his foot to give him some grip when standing up. 
The only low point I can come up with are that the back of the cassette player (when transformed) is not very convincing. The hands are visible and the weapons (that in the original toys turned into batteries that you stored in a compartment) are also visible. That's it! Those are the only points they could try to improve.
Factor in the nostalgia and this set becomes a 12/10.

Soundwave superior!

this took me 5hrs to build but holy moley is it worth it. fun build. enjoyably complex. great display piece and best of all he speaks! 

Soundwave is truly superior

I already owned the Optimus Prime model, which is excellent. This looked promising. Overall I'm very satisfied. My only complaint is that the hands and arms aren't properly concealed in its alt-mode. It would also be cool to have more of his cassette warriors available, even if they were sold separately. But it's a good solid build, highly poseable and stable, and the sound brick is a nice touch. (Another suggestion: replace the sound brick with a Bluetooth speaker module?)

Soundwave Superior

I understand that this warning label is required, but Lego should figure out how not to destroy the box.  I used to collect Lego sets, I would build it, but the box was still part of my display.  Lego needs to stop using coin batteries, go to AAA or just remove the features that the Lego set doesn’t need, or sell a separate “lighting kit” with the huge warning label on it.  I want my box art back, it is disgusting that I have to try and import sets at a premium cost just to get a box without a label that takes up almost a 1/4 of the cover.

Don’t bother with this one. It is poorly designed (looks nice but doesn’t transform well) It collapses with every movement. Never returned a lego item, this one was really crummy
