Upon opening the box I noticed the paint was chipped off one side of the blade The exposed, uncoated metal is about the size of a cell phone. We have not been able to find a store that has a replacement. QC needs to be aware of this one.

Sturdy cast steel, well made, hammer included is a plus, perfect size, splits well. Mounted mine on boards for stability when using. Works great to split the wood for my outdoor fire pit. Highly recommend…at a great price and prompt shipping by Sam’s Club.

Just what I needed.

The mini sledge hammer handle snapped within the first month of mild use, but otherwise a good tool for the cabin. It splits maple, pine, hickory, ash, and walnut without too much effort.

The overall splitter is made well and works well. sledge handle, broke on second use.

Splitter seems to work well, but the handle on the included mallet broke on the 5th whack.

A must have!

Excellent splitter for making kindling. I had a great deal of split firewood but needed kindling to start the fire in my fireplace. This device fit the bill. The price at Sam's was very reasonable.

it is what I intended to buy, I thought I would be able to split some of the large logs in my wood pile, but apparently I am to old and to weak ... lol
